Newsom says California stay-at-home order will likely be extended

Newsom noted in particular that the original Dec. 28 end date in the San Joaquin region and the Dec. 30 date in Southern California would likely be lengthened in coming days.
"Based on those current trend lines, we’ll need to extend that stay-at-home order," said Newsom, who delivered his briefing from his home where he's under quarantine for 10 days after an employee tested positive.
"If you’re looking at the 28th of December, you’re looking at, what are ICU projections around the 25th of January?" he explained. Newsom introduced the stay-at-home order late last month to prevent local health systems from collapsing under the weight of skyrocketing COVID-19 caseloads".
