I’m thinking about joining these two as I BBQ on the grill on back porch as in barking into the a new best hole.
I’m thinking it may just be therapeutic I know I would be welcomed.

Thinking of my F.I.L. this morning oh shit our daughter is pregnant by a G.D. Paratrooper

A ramble can’t sleep yet just got off a Flushing Queens turn and home leaving Queens I had to go out over the top this morning by way of the G.W. bridge. On the way in the BQE was tight backed up heading out towards Verrazano bridge into joisey.

Thinking of my Father in law he served with the 101st he rucked with 2/327 PIR as a combat medic. He was a character as the title of this post he mentioned to me once over few beers after i E.T.S that when they found out Liz was pregnant oh shit the 82nd has gotten our daughter in that way with a baby.

He had an excellent sense of humor and he looked at life the glass was half full, it was Christmas 87 I know Liz and the baby will be ok with you he said to me in that you will always take care of them.

I remember that time I was a dock man for Preston 151 union trucking company and on 12/23/87 I passed my chauffeur license test to drive truck Preston helped me get that license. From the dock to yard jockey to ok kid your gonna go out and do city pickup and deliveries and drive on your permit with a city P&D man.

12/24/87 Liz and her mother head out from the small town we lived in about 30 miles from Johnstown Pennsylvania. They were headed to I think Monroeville mall to finish up the Christmas shopping or maybe Altoona maybe both I do not remember.

They both mother and daughter were on a mission because this was our oldest daughter first Christmas. And her father who would eventually be named pop pop by Heather father in law and i were in charge of Heather, go have fun enjoy will be ok I remember handing Liz maybe three to five hundred in cash that morning she wanted to buy presents for all family, Liz asked can we afford this I said sure and it’s a lot of overtime cash so yea do it.

They left and we loaded Heather into his car on the down low to roll to this jewelry store so I could get Liz these pearls necklace and earrings that she liked.Pop pop rode along drinking a 12 pack as I drove. I remember Liz looking at those pearls and she said I don’t wanna spend the cash on me. We scored the pearls headed home to chill , my father in law was a huge guy in build six foot four yea 18 today is built like his pop pop I look up at 18 from my six feet in height.

Yet everyone of our children I remember him father in law holding them as babies newborns holding them in his huge hands with love just beaming. Or a memory 18 who was probably two at that moment passed out asleep leaning into his pop pop who had his arm around his grandson in this memory I have they both were napping on the couch as the Eagles played.

Anyway to get back on point my father in law always told the story of the day Liz was born thanksgiving day 1968 she came five weeks early and for thanksgiving he ate two hotdogs for thanksgiving dinner so every thanksgiving we had hotdogs for lunch before the turkey dinner. Liz was conceived in Hawaii on his R&R he says my wife flew home carrying our oldest daughter we didn’t know if we did we’d probably gone to Canada to bail and I flew back to Vietnam.

Like a lot of veterans he had his memories that he would try and drown them in whiskey yet he was never a violent man. He was very self conscious of his legs as in he never liked to wear shorts his legs were covered in scars from when he was wounded he told me once eleven months into that bitch and I got hit. He told me of that night I never asked because of growing up with my father and his memories of Vietnam you just do not ask.

The story was he told me once he was drunk so was I they hooked up with some mech unit not sure who the unit was as I know the 101st was light infantry yet they we’re gonna dig in and spend the night and the NVA came for them.

And when it went down they were dragging the wounded to these 113’s and treating them and the track he was on took a RPG and that’s how his legs became scarred bad from his wounds. We use go to the beach on vacation they had beach house and he would try and set up on secluded part beach to swim in his swim trunks I’d tell him fuck what people think yet it bothered him.

He passed in 2009 he was a victim of agent orange later in life Liz pulled out that time took off work with 18 who was maybe four to go and help her mom take care of her father. And his boy his only grandson would spend the days talking with his pop pop in the family room where his hospital bed was Liz told me that made him so happy at that time in his life.
Tell you that man was anti war rewind to 2003 and we’re sitting in this club he belonged to and W bush just announced mission accomplished some shit. And my father in law said yea that fuck did great job keeping Texas free of the NVA flying close air support for air national guard yet now he just created a new generation of dead and wounded.

Great guy my father in law.

Sat down with the attorneys over Liz.

Yesterday before I went into work they advised me that they would not recommend pursuing trying to prove negligence on the part of the medical provider. They explained too me they understand my questions in asking if they the medical provider screwed up , when I called like five days in telling them that the antibiotic is not working can you send the nurse practitioner out again maybe to look at my wife again maybe take blood.

I was informed after they consulted the staff by phone with my wife’s physician I was told Liz has only been on antibiotic for like five days and continue antibiotic it was for like ten days if you feel she’s in danger go to the E.R. or to call back on Monday to schedule appointment when called Monday I was told they can see her in home the following Monday.

So the attorneys pointed out that yes Liz knew understood what I was relaying to her what her Doc said. And she made the decision to just wait and see to see if antibiotic would kick the infection. I know now why she wanted to see if it would work she didn’t want to be in hospital or rehab for like previous time 48 day’s combined hospital and rehab two years ago with Covid.

November is big month as in our biological son’s birthday Elizabeth’s birthday she is a thanksgiving baby, I never grew tired of listening to her father tell the story of the day Liz was born on that day for thanksgiving he ate two hotdogs.

Elizabeth was conceived in Hawaii my father in law was on his R&R my mother in law flew to meet him for seven days. He said I headed back to Vietnam and she headed home carrying a baby we did not know. I loved that man deeply i strived to be the same father and husband as he was.

Were on a mission from God in memory of Boog ,Jake and Elwood are done at 07:00 work this morning

Just received Text the boys be home by 8am 18 wanted to know if we need anything from store. I said pick up some chili dogs from the Greek diner I’ll take two and fries with gravy. We would stop once in awhile at the diner and always ordered my chocolate boy a plain hot dog to go and we always saved him some fries.
The vet said he lived a good long life of thirteen years it was probably the hot dogs and gravy fries I’m thinking . Boog used to work out with us on back porch not physically just laying on his bed on his back all four paws in the air definitely a health nut.

Mexican strats I love them a few upgrades and you are still ahead of the game in savings.

A ramble can’t sleep work tonight. I just put in a treble bleed in my sons friend strat he is the second owner and this guitar is stellar it’s ash natural finish rosewood fretboard serial # is telling me late 2000’s. Whoever owned it before loved this guitar new tuners and nut aftermarket custom shop sixty nines and they went the brass route on the block and claw down to the saddles.

What they are making in Ensenada is just amazing these strats are old school like the 60 and 70 standards that I grew up playing. Today we have so many options from amps to guitars in decent price a few upgrades or amp mods you’re good to go. Recently now just bear with me I’ve had at least five coffees the boys went to work they then will come home knock out cyber school and I ramble.

Home use we use 1-5 watt marshals also a 5 fender clone of a champ that Liz had built for me as Christmas gift years ago. Yet recently I had 18 watt combo modded only reason I bought it was for the 2-12 green backs I knew they were aftermarket yet I took it to a friend who builds amps said hey drop in your JTM 45 6v6 builds patch it wanna be able to blend.

And give me the option of well now opened up we’re probably 20 watts yet I can drop it to 10 or 5 watts as well. Price was so much cheaper than buying an amp with same feature with a well known name on panel and now Dad has all the headroom anybody could possibly need.

Trout fishing yesterday in the rain with sixteen and Curt Gowdy one and two.

A ramble can’t sleep last night I fell asleep 9pm went to bed was up 12:15 am wide awake.

So yesterday we roll and we hit this limestone stream about eight miles from our home over near state park. Anyway we took two vehicles cuz sixteen is in drivers ed training besides free guitar lessons totally unstructured here at Duncpup school of blues we also offer drivers ed and culinary arts and guided fishing expeditions / circus . So we park the Mazda up stream hop into 4 runner and head about two miles downstream. Were gonna fish moving up against the flow of the stream you cast upstream the nymphs go floating past Nemo and score.

So anyhow we are at our kickoff point where we can walk in to the stream as we are dragging gear out of 4 runner. 19 with the hard questions Dad why are you not putting on your chest waders I told him instead of majoring in electrical engineering this fall he should pursue journalism . I point to the stream water is high from the rain it’s running fast , and if I get tight and can’t work it loose from the stream bank I’ll cut break it and put on another nymph.

Side note I hooked up sixteen with her own wet weather gear kids four foot eleven inches what I ordered her was still to big jacket and pants we rolled her jacket sleeves and pant legs up taped them off. 😂

So 18-19 hey we’re wearing our chest waders now these two have really become accomplished fly fishing dudes. Me nah I don’t have patience I’m daiwa ultra light rod and reel yet these waters are not strictly fly fishing only , so sixteen and I were trying to find the fish and we were using nymphs weighted to flow along bottom. 18-19 maybe 50 meters behind us.
Sixteen and I locked on the trout it’s nice spot an old railroad bridge that washed out I was told from Agnes back in 72 ,and next thing you know maybe three fish in like 20 minutes. Before you know it yep here comes my two seriously wading in the stream , I guess it’s to much to walk along creek bank.

So then you have two fatheads a sixteen year old and Dad sharing a small ass piece of real estate yep a circus. So it gets better 18 says to 19 about a mile up stream hey pass me a sandwich 19 is like huh I thought you put them in your backpack.

A great memory this same stretch we were at yesterday years ago Boog was with us and he took off running because this couple were having a picnic. And we didn’t know that they were being intimate I was worried about Boog I hollered he is ok he doesn’t bite we walked up on them and they we’re getting dressed we stopped looked away as they dressed and their was Boog looking for a handout.

That day I told Liz what happened she said really Boog you ruined their romance, yea but lady I got a cookie out of it wag wag.

Told 18 and 19 I'll buy their union books as High school graduation present.

They took casual Dock job with a nationwide union LTL carrier you have seen their equipment all green tractors based out of fort smith Arkansas this outfit has a break bull hub about 35 miles from our home.
I was gonna go work for them as line haul driver after the yellow roadway merger yet ended up here at Buster brown anyhow they left 02:00 to train 03:00-07:00 maybe to 11am Monday to Friday this week on dock then get home for cyber school , which cyber school is this late in the game. And the school just loads assignments and they complete them when they can. Except for Wednesday afternoon when they meet online with cyber school director to go over anything they need.
This was the boys idea a friend of the fellas who graduated early is on list working 8 + shifts he told them cash he was making. I told them bank your cash i am writing the checks for tuition.
This summer after graduation they can go 8-10 hours and then come fall both off to local university. They have both decided they want to stay here and go to Shippensburg university in fall. Then work the docks next summer up to graduation if they want. Not bad job I mean or casual through the school year with straight and overtime this summer where else can a college kid make decent cash working full time in summer then casual throughout the year.

Come this fall 18 is gonna be studying math and 19 is studying Electrical Engineering. Told them both this morning stay focused get a education like your Mother and your sisters, made me smile this morning it’s gonna be 03:00-07:00 possibly 11am they took my old lunchbox cooler and it was packed I asked them if they were going on long trip or if they left any groceries in fridge. Oh here is the kicker they both took the Corolla gonna be 70 be around miles round trip for them Toyota it’s great on fuel economy my commute to work car why cuz 19 drives a 4 runner 18 drives pathfinder.
