Jimmy Hoffa's body may have been found by dog

https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/crime/jimmy-hoffa-body-dog-milwaukee-b2439941.html

The body of Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa may have been found buried next to a Milwaukee baseball stadium by a search dog called Moxy, cold case investigators claim.

The non-profit Case Breakers group says its years-long investigation led them to the former site of Milwaukee County Stadium in Wisconsin.

Hoffa, a legendary union leader, disappeared on 30 July 1975 while reportedly on his way to a meeting with Detroit mafia members. His body has never been found and he was declared legally dead in 1982.

The Case Breakers said in a statement on Wednesday that their search was aided by “a dying police sergeant’s scribbled instructions on an ace of spades” playing card.

But experts say the image shows signs of artificial intelligence and it was not published by news organizations with photographers in the region.

Tuberville tries to force a vote on Marine nominee despite military holds

WASHINGTON — The Senate is likely to vote this week to confirm the Marine Corps’ second-in-command after the service branch’s commandant, Gen. Eric Smith, was hospitalized due to a medical emergency on Sunday.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., facing fresh attacks over his military holds, is trying to force a floor vote on the nomination, while Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer privately told Democrats he'll bring up the nomination along with two others this week, a Senate source said.

Tuberville told reporters Tuesday that Smith’s unexpected health issues have caused him to reconsider his hold on the nomination of Lt. Gen Christopher Mahoney to be the Marine Corps’ assistant commandant.

“Just on that one,” Tuberville said, adding he won’t lift his blockade of hundreds of other senior military promotions until the Pentagon reverses its new abortion policy.

Tuberville won't lift his military blockade amid Israel-Hamas conflict

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/sen-tommy-tuberville-wont-lift-military-blockade-israel-hamas-conflict-rcna119401

The office of Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., said he isn’t backing down on his monthslong blockade on hundreds of military promotions, even amid Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel, a close U.S ally.

“The Pentagon clearly thinks forcing taxpayers to facilitate abortion is more important than confirming their top nominees without a vote. They could end this situation TODAY by dropping their illegal and immoral policy and get everyone confirmed rapidly, but they refuse,” Tuberville spokesperson Steve Stafford said in a statement to NBC News. “If the Biden administration wants their nominees confirmed then Senate Democrats can do what Coach just did in September and file a cloture petition to force a vote.”

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell's lawyers quit Dominion case en masse

The price of stupidity can be pretty expensive

https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/us-politics/mypillow-mike-lindell-dominion-lawsuit-attorneys-b2425208.html

Lawyers representing MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell in three separate defamation cases are set to sever ties with the 2020 election denier over millions of dollars in unpaid legal fees.

Law firm Parker Daniels Kibort LLC said in new court filings that Mr Lindell and his pillow company are several months behind on their legal bills in the three cases.

Now, the lawyers claim they can no longer afford to represent the notorious Donald Trump supporter in the absence of any payment.

“At this time, Defendants are in arrears by millions of dollars to PDK,” the filing said.

Cassidy Hutchinson, a former Trump White House aide who gave key testimony before the House Jan. 6 committee, writes in her new memoir that Donald Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani groped her.

Hutchinson said the former New York City mayor put his hand under her blazer, then her skirt, according to The Guardian.

“I feel his frozen fingers trail up my thigh,” she wrote, according to The Guardian. “He tilts his chin up. The whites of his eyes look jaundiced. My eyes dart to [Trump adviser] John Eastman, who flashes a leering grin.”
