Mortal

Having never been one since my tweens susceptible to deity myths, mulling over my recent cancer diagnosis simply didn't sideswipe me in the "classic" sense. I have to admit the very existence of backward, idiotic repuglicans disgusts me so profoundly, has caused my gay self more issues than I can count or care to recall. Truly I thought we'd evolve further than the likes of "Don't say Gay" bills, book burnings and vaccine retardation by now. November 2016 I was more inclined to apply for the peaceful euthanasia option than after 2020 by far. Still, my thoughts turn to a Voyager episode that stirred me and my own death wishes.

I want to take the hands off the clock. Trip the light fantastic or simply be truly at peace. "Because it's all been done" said the death-wish Q being, what a ridiculous irony that the Trekkie legend of the "Q" perverted now into such an idiotic connotation. Just put me down. I don't feel badly having not deposited a DNA replicant of myself, not to a world killing off it's own food chain, destroying the balance to breathe fresh air and with literally billions of it's inhabitants so sold on selfish myths. Omegan and fine with that, last of my line.
Filling out the papers to donate my body to science, I hope they can find me since I plan on being on the road till my heart stills.
Just seems part of an oddly drab routine now.
And there's an endless desert road just outside of here.

Kudos to the Feinsteins in this time of 😔 grief

https://www.kron4.com/news/bay-area/sen-feinstein-announces-husbands-death/
"My heart is broken today. My husband was my partner and best friend for more than 40 years. He was by my side for the good times and for the challenges. I am going to miss him terribly,” Feinstein stated. “Dick was incredibly devoted to his family, particularly his daughters and his grandchildren, and my heart is with them and everyone who Dick encountered. He was the type of man who really replaced his divot in life, who left things better than he found them. His enormous generosity is an inspiration for so many of us.”

My dog may have saved my life

https://photos.app.goo.gl/8DccJzxnERErvaTp9
Tiago, short for Santiago, 2 and 1/2 year old husky/malamute rescued his poppa from his loneliness amid the pandemic and California fires. Tiago had wandered through Northern California fire zones extensively as a runaway from suspected abusive and/or neglectful situation by behavioral evidence.
You'd never know he had a rough puppy hood now.
On my days off at my latest gig here in Palm Springs I caught a moment to let Tiago run while a dog park was abandoned. Tiago tends to not play nice with others, so I can only give him a free run and play session this way.
Tiago jumped on me, playing, toppling me onto my back, hard enough to knock the breath out of me.
That evening, there was blood in my urine that has been intermittent, episodic since that caused me to pursue care. Turns out there's a tumor in my bladder to be TURB'ed next week.
Had it not been for Tiago knocking me on my back, I might have not known of this condition until far more severe!
Tiago knows his poppa does something important taking care of people at someplace called a hospital. He gets a sad when poppa puts on his scrubs to go. Then he's so loving and full of embraces and kisses for his poppa when exhausted from the daily onslaught, lately getting a bit better, thank you vaccinated people!
Now he may well have saved my life.

The mask debacle

Even when mask mandates are repealed, I feel that wearing washable and/or disposable mask in grocery stores and especially in crowded, confined spaces remains a good all around health conscious idea.
I can't help but wonder if those who had such tantrums about public health measures such as masks, not to mention vaccinations will finally dawn on this ilk that they rebelled against nothing but partisan bullshit.
There's so much perilous ignorance perpetuated primarily by Republicans that someday will become glaringly obvious as malicious, lethal lies.
At 62 and in some compromised health it's fairly unlikely I'll personally see the full day of reckoning about climate change. But in a few years when the vaccinated haven't succumbed to idiotic notions of organs dissolved, crystallized etc. that the RWNJ carnival barkers have broadcast their doom and gloom messages, will it dawn on these lemmings they were wrong, yet some of their loved ones are still dead due to their insolence? Time will tell.

"I voted" tax incentives

Then how very Repubican of them to vote against that too? Fox News revives Scrooge.
Methinks this could solve our election imbalance far more than Fox News could use the outrage machine.
Second to scrapping the electoral college altogether, that myseriously seems to encounter resistance among Dems.

Daveed Diggs on CBS morning:

"Here we are having a normal-ass conversation"...
LMFAO! You go Bay Area Brother! Bay area roots emerges in the most casually unexpected moments.
(and BTW he was a strikingly cute kid back when too)

Face of the FRC

I might have an inkling more respect for religion if it's adherents didn't get so damn imperious about pushing their faith onto everyone.
Working in ancillary medical in the pandemic we're seeing those who are just dying due to insanely stupid convictions, complicating the unholy fuck out of caring for them and others: specifically, objections to removing religious jewelry that has ended tragically. In one case, a patient hid that he was wearing a huge CROSS necklace, even lied to the screening, and the necklace caused facial injuries to the patient and damage to the machine's inner casing as it ripped over his head and projectiled into the machine. Another choker chain had to be cut off of a patient who had an allergic reaction, neck swollen and could have choked herself to death. Again, one who earlier wouldn't remove said necklace "because my faith".
Time and time again I see these religious idiots make total asses of themselves.
AND HERE'S ANOTHER ONE!!!:

Perpetual rudeness

Certainly has gotten out of hand.
I sure dislike ever being a "Karen" but today, smear me with the lipstick because "I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER!!!"
I just got done putting in the following complaint at Walmart com:
Horrific experience. Worst ever at any Walmart anywhere. Repeatedly requesting "Rosalba" to help me find an item, she ignored me, plinking on her phone. There's no way she didn't hear. I finally found what I wanted without her help.
This wouldn't be so bad on its own had it not been for twice nearly colliding with 2 other Walmart employees, same visit, same thing: plinking on their damn phones rather than paying attention to anything around them.
I'll drive to any other location from now on.

Wally's site apparently has a 500 character limit, or I would have unloaded on them more.

Tell me, DU'ers...
Is it just me or has the concept of customer service gone completely kaflook? Help shortage or not this seemed extraordinary.
Next time I'll remember to fall on the floor then call an injury attorney.
(Kidding. I could never be that jaded. But sometimes... sometines...)

It's true. You just can't get good help these days.

While I was in Arizona I thought I'd get a small patch of dirt capped with cement to help with mud control in the rain. Uncertain just who to call, finally finding the listing for cementery in the yellow pages, I called stating I would need their services, gave my address. I thought the funny typo leaving out the "N" in their listing to be sort of odd, but some publications don't do good proofreading I suppose.
I waited and waited all afternoon. Funny part is some traveling salesman stopped by while I was waiting to sell me a burial plot and funeral plan on installments, but the cement truck never arrived.

How to defeat the perpetual nature of laundry

I misunderstand just exactly how it's possible to be "all caught up" on laundry. I have a load in the washer right now. Soon it goes to the dryer. But since I'm actively shedding skin cells and sweating up the clothes I'm in doing that, damn, there's more laundry. So if I change those for the ones I pull from the dryer, then I'm dirtying up more clothes. The vicious cycle repeats and repeats... I'll never get the vacuuming done at this rate!!!
Anyway, that's why I got arrested for public nudity at the laundromat.
