Yesterday I saw the movie "Darkest Hour"...

I'd love to hear some feedback from other DU'er's before offering my opinion...anyone???

I need some ideas of funny/feel-good/inspirational YouTubes, cartoons, etc.

that I can email to my best friend who's really down: He's 53 y.o, is in an unhappy marriage (he and his husband have been together for 14 years), is devastated about what's going on politically, intensely dislikes his job, and lives in Rhode Island where he can't stand the cold weather (he's lived here in Southern California -where I am- for most of his adult life and is trying to get back out here as soon as he can). The two of us have been friends since 1993 where we worked for the same company. We initially had our gayness (I'm a lesbian) in common and the more time we spent together the more we realized we had a whole lot in common. We connect on levels that I've never connected with anyone else. We've been through EVERYTHING together. He's the most important person in the world to me. He has an amazing sense of humor, and I know if I send him some funny, touching, inspirational, links, it'll mean a lot to him. Thanks guys

Can someone clarify something about the supposed "banned words" given to the CDC?

My understanding is it was reported by the Washington Post on Saturday, and I think there were around seven words. Now I'm reading a denial that this mandate ever existed. I'm thinking WTF? Did someone intentionally feed The Post bogus information to e/affect their credibility?

The movie, "Last Flag Flying"....I thought it was beautiful....

The acting was perfect (in such a subtle way)...the plot was heartfelt....I loved this movie. I'd like to hear what other DU'ers thought....

I'm watching "The Keeper" on Netflix and my God....I just don't know what to say...I'm

on the 2nd episode...Is anyone else watching? It's times like these I wish I wasn't single!

Vaping....I used to be a heavy smoker. I've mainly been a non-smoker for 30 years...

(My main question is below in all caps if folks don't want to read all of this-I'd really appreciate what you know regarding my question). Anyway, I've had a few relapses but the last one I had (about 5 years ago) I was able to easily quit because Chantix really, really completely worked for me; I actually lean more towards being a health nut. Anyway, I went to a reunion of sorts with life long friends a couple of months ago and one of them is trying to quit smoking so she was vaping. I tried it and really liked it (but not the tobacco part, more for the sensation). Anyway when I got home I bought the vaping device and the ejuice (with 0% tobacco). I really, really enjoy it. It helps me with my oral fixation and also helps me regarding overeating as I'm trying to loose weight. Anyway, the main reason I'm posting is because the ejuice that I ordered online came in today and my roommate brought it in to me (Side note - I have a roommate because I want to live in the awesome beach city of Redondo Beach, CA and wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise). This roommate can be really difficult sometimes (a complete B BUT most of the time she's okay). I love everything about my apt. and don't want to move unless absolutely necessary. Anyway, she said, "Are you vaping?!?!?! I said I'd tried it and mentioned my experience with my friend at my reunion. She became furious and said you will NOT VAPE here and started giving me the 3rd degree (She's a TOTAL control freak and I try to overlook it). I'm almost 60 years old, I completely pay my 1/2 of everything, have NEVER, I repeat NEVER been late on ANY bills, etc. The reason she has control is because the lease is in her name as I moved in while she was already here (I found her through a service). I've lived here for about 3 1/2 years. I've been around her more lately because I'm in the kitchen more because of my diet. Also, neither of us works right now as she's retired and the company in which I worked went out of business. So, the more I'm around her, the worse it its. After all of this, my question is:

DOES VAPING IN AN ENCLOSED ENVIORNMENT (INDOORS VERSUS OUTDOORS) HAVE ANY EFFECT ON OTHERS?

(The really FUNNY thing is I've been vaping in my room/office for two months and she's never noticed a thing)! LOL!

Could someone explain to me exactly why Ted Lieu (he's my congressman and Bill Maher said

his Congressman as well) wasn't on Real Time tonight? Bill read what Congressman Lieu wrote about Government needing to stop business as usual but I'm still not clear on what that has to do with him not being on the show.

I'm looking to binge on a series. Has anyone seen "The Fall" and do you recommend it? I like this

type of show. Detective, mystery, etc.

I've spoken with Senator Feinstein's Office; I've spoken with Ted Lieu's Office (my U.S. House Rep. from my district in L.A. - Redondo Beach); I left a message on Senator Harris' Office (she took Boxer's place); and I tried to get through to Schumer's office but the lines are jammed! Not only does Session's have to go, I believe he needs to be indicted for Perjury!

I'm a little weepy tonight. What is one of your saddest movie scenes? This one gets me everytime...
