Accusations of 'concern'

For a while now people appear to be trying to get around the rules on attacking posters, by posting snarky replies to some posters about how they seem 'concerned' or directly that they are 'concern trolls'. This is nothing more than an accusation that the original poster is a right wing troll or generally not a legitimate Democrat, and is used frequently to try and drive away people with differing opinions.

Refering to the TOS:

"No divisive group attacks
Do not smear, insult, vilify, bait, maliciously caricature, or give disrespectful nicknames to any groups of people that are part of the Democratic coalition, or that hold viewpoints commonly held by Democrats, or that support particular Democratic public figures. Do not imply that they are fake Democrats, fake progressives, conservatives, right-wingers, Republicans, or the like. "

Could we clarify please whether this constitutes a breach of the TOS and as such whether we should be alerting on this behavior?

Chaffetz: "Trump is almost worse than Obama"

[quote]

"Outgoing Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) lashed out at the Trump administration recently for being “worse” than the Obama administration when it comes to transparency.

In an interview with Sinclair broadcasting’s Sharyl Attkisson that aired on Sunday, the House Oversight Committee Chairman who spent millions crusading against Hillary Clinton explained why he was not hopeful about the government under President Donald Trump.

“The reality is, sadly, I don’t see much difference between the Trump administration and the Obama administration,” Chaffetz told the conservative host. “I thought there would be this, these floodgates would open up with all the documents we wanted from the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the Pentagon.”

“In many ways, it’s almost worse because we’re getting nothing, and that’s terribly frustrating and, with all due respect, the attorney general has not changed at all,” he added. “I find him to be worse than what I saw with Loretta Lynch in terms of releasing documents and making things available. I just, that’s my experience, and that’s not what I expected.”

Shattered: It's not the book many here thought it was.

I'm just coming towards the end, and its actually a very open and honest look inside the campaign. The authors clearly spoke to pretty much everyone internally, including to Hillary herself and directly quote some very important conversations. They don't go easy on anyone, but they place a massive amount of the blame on Comey, and talk a lot about Russia too towards the end (including a theory about why Putin was determined to defeat her, which I hadn't heard before).

It's not a fan piece, but neither is it a hit piece. There's hard words at various points for both Clinton and Sanders, but they also show some real warmth for Hillary and talk a lot about her aspirations to help people's lives and make the country a better place.

It's very much worth a read. You'll probably end up a lot angrier at Robbie Mook than you are now, but it's a valuable way to make sure we don't repeat the same mistakes in 2020. It's also full of insights into the personalities of a lot of major Dem figures.

Waiting for some Pence collusion to hopefully bring him into the investigation?

Wait no longer.

Vice President Mike Pence Met Privately With Top Russian Cleric

A top cleric of the Russian Orthodox Church and ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin met privately with Vice President Mike Pence Thursday morning and urged the U.S. to cooperate with Russia to combat terrorism in the Middle East.

Metropolitan Hilarion Alfeyev of Moscow, who chairs the Russian Orthodox Church’s external relations department, spoke with Pence backstage at evangelist Franklin Graham’s Washington summit on religious violence against Christians.

“It is only one united, international anti-terrorist coalition which can combat terrorism and win,” Hilarion told TIME during an interview in a suite at the Trump International Hotel in D.C., a few blocks down Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House. “The two countries should put these political differences aside.”

A White House spokesman confirmed Pence's meeting with Hilarion and said the cleric's comments also reflected President Trump's views. Hilarion says that after talking with Pence, he feels “very positive” about the future of the relationship between the U.S. and Russia.
