LGBTQ+ people flock to Florida for Gay Days festival

LGBTQ+ people flock to Florida for Gay Days festival
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ people are flocking to central Florida this weekend to go on theme park rides, mingle with costumed performers, dance at all-night parties and lounge poolside at hotels during Gay Days, a decades-long tradition.
Even though Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida lawmakers have championed a slew of anti-LGBTQ+ laws spurring the most prominent gay rights group in the U.S. and other civil rights organizations to issue warnings the Sunshine State may no longer be safe Gay Days organizers are still encouraging visitors from around the world to come to one of Floridas largest gay and lesbian celebrations.
They say a large turnout will send a message that LGBTQ+ people are not going away in Florida, which is continually one of the most popular states for tourists to visit. If the hoped-for 150,000 or more visitors come to the half-week of pool parties, drag bingo and thrill rides at Orlandos theme parks and hotels, then thats the point, said Joseph Clark, CEO of Gay Days Inc.

Gov. Ron DeSantis Responds to Patrick Space Force Base Being Named STARCOM Training Headquarters
Forgive me if this has already been posted, I didn't see it.
Gov. Ron DeSantis Responds to Patrick Space Force Base Being Named STARCOM Training Headquarters
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Floridas Patrick Space Force Base has been selected as the home for the U.S. Space Force Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) headquarters.
Todays announcement further solidifies Floridas dominance as the most military-friendly state and position as Americas hub for military and private space operations.
STARCOM will prepare combat-ready U.S. Space Force (USSF) Guardians to fight and win in a contested, degraded, and operationally limited environment through the deliberate development, education, and training of space professionals; development of space warfighting doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures; and the test and evaluation of USSF capabilities.
-snip-
This decision by the U.S. Air Force reflects the strategic importance of Florida in advancing national security and defense in space, said Frank DiBello, President and CEO, Space Florida. Bringing STARCOMs headquarters to Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station is a significant milestone in Floridas history and reaffirms our critical role in advancing the nations space and military capabilities. I want to thank USSF General Stephen Purdy for his commitment to helping build a space military operations hub in Florida.
Space Florida worked in partnership with Florida Defense Support Task Force, Enterprise Florida, the Economic Development Commission of Floridas Space Coast, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida High Tech Corridor, Florida Institute of Technology, National Center for Simulation, Team Volusia Economic Development Corporation, University of Central Florida, and many other state and local entities on the campaign to bring STARCOM headquarters to Florida.

Democrat Donna Deegan becomes first female mayor of Jacksonville
But yea, let's give up on Florida.
Democrat Donna Deegan will serve as the first female mayor of Jacksonville..
After months of hard campaigning and millions of dollars spent between both sides, Degan won the highly contested election against Republican Daniel Davis.
Turnout ended at 33%, which was higher than primary turnout of just over 25% of registered voters. Democrats finished early voting with over a 4-point lead leaving the race open for either candidate on Tuesday.

Sudan: Lots of activitity today.
Details are on Twitter, see OSINTdefender & Evergreen Intel accounts.
I'm still working on invoices & estimates for my customers so I don't have time to post it all, but here are samples.
The Operation to Evacuate the U.S. Embassy in Sudan tonight appears to have been the definition of Textbook and went off close to perfectly.
U.S. Special Forces utilizing UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopters are Confirmed to have Evacuated at least 70 Americans from the U.S. Embassy in the Sudanese Capital; it is currently Unknown where they have been taken to.
At least 3 U.S. Air Force C-130s are Pinging from the Sudanese Capital City of Khartoum as reports come in that they may have landed at Khartoum International Airport. @air_intel
Confirmed: Real-time network data show a near-total collapse of internet connectivity in #Sudan with national connectivity now at 2% of ordinary levels; the incident comes as foreign diplomats are evacuated amid fighting between military and paramilitary forces
There is MUCH more on Twitter, including info on unusual calls from LORDSHIP to SKYMASTER (US military ground control to airborne control) using 4 character EAM codes (the classified military Emergency Action Message codes) which caught my attention a few days ago, when this global mobilization started.
Sorry I don't have time to post more, our media will probably have caught up tomorrow.
