Melania Trump is expected to spend her 53rd birthday Wednesday with family at Mar-a-Lago, a source tells PEOPLE.
"Melania likes a low-key celebration with family and that I believe is her plan for this year's birthday," the source notes.
*****
But as for Wednesday, Donald is expected to celebrate Melania if his schedule allows him to be in Mar-a-Lago.
"If Donald is here, he will be joining the family to celebrate his wife's birthday. Despite what you hear, the Trumps are a close family," the source adds.

Judge Lewis Kaplan told the parties outside the presence of the jury that any discussion of how Carroll's case is funded is not relevant. As recently as this morning, Trump posted on Truth Social that Roberta Kaplan, a lawyer for Carroll, was financed by a big political donor. This afternoon, Eric Trump, his son, posted on Twitter that the case was being funded by political activist Reid Hoffman, a co-founder of LinkedIn, and that he was doing it out of pure hatred, spite or fear of a formidable candidate.

In recent weeks, there has been extensive back and forth about this issue of litigation funding. Trumps lawyers in mid-April asked for a one-month postponement so that they could look into the issue. Carrolls lawyers said at the time that the financial support was irrelevant. The judge declined to delay the trial, but allowed the defense lawyers to conduct a narrow inquiry into the funding.

As you might expect, today's testimony is especially graphic
Here is the link to the NYT ongoing updates:

Because of the graphic nature, I won't be posting all of it.

McGovern to McCarthy: "Your problem with this bill was that it didn't screw people fast enough"
With a razor-thin majority and Democrats expected to be united in their opposition, Republican leaders could afford few defections.
Democrats were adamantly opposed to the Republican legislation, assailing it for across-the-board cuts to federal programs, stricter work requirements for qualifying for Medicaid and food stamps and a rollback of regulatory programs. They portrayed the plan as tantamount to holding the American economy ransom to far-right policy demands and denounced the last-minute changes.
My analysis of this new plan is that it is even more draconian, even more devastating, even worse, even more mean, said Representative Jim McGovern of Massachusetts, the top Democrat on the Rules Committee. Your problem with this bill was that it didnt screw people fast enough.

POLITICO analysis: At $2.3 trillion cost, Trump tax cuts leave big gap
By DAVID ROGERS

Between new cost estimates and the White Houses own budget numbers, the wheels are coming off Republican claims that President Donald Trumps tax cuts will pay for themselves by generating increased growth and government revenues over the next decade.
Not only will this tax plan pay for itself but it will pay down debt, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin famously boasted in September. But his own departments analysts now peg the 10-year cost at $2.3 trillion given the administrations assumption that tax breaks for individuals and large estates will be extended past 2025.
POLITICOs own calculations, working entirely from data in the 2018 and 2019 budgets, indicate that the added revenues generated by the tax cuts themselves would fall substantially short of matching $2.3 trillion.
For the years 2018 to 2027, the shortfall ranges from $1 trillion to $1.3 trillion. In measuring for 2019 to 2028, the picture improves, but the 10-year shortfall still is between $700 billion to $1.1 trillion.
Trump seems to be handling the rape case well.
"She said there was a dress, using the ol' Monica Lewinsky' stuff', then she didn't want to produce it. The dress should be allowed to be part of the case. This is a fraudulent & false story--Witch Hunt!"This is a 76 year old man who wants to once again be leader of the free world. This is someone who, if elected, would once again have the nuclear codes.
This guy.
If he yells "witch hunt" one more time I'm gonna bust a fukken blood vessel.
I wonder if there is any level on which Kari Lake actually "gets" it.
Trump has the reality of what a majority of Americans think of him dialed in. He JOKES about being "your favorite president," and his fragile ego DEMANDS that he brag about either non-existent polls, or polls that are conducted almost exclusively in his base, but he makes enough "asides" about "Trump haters" and "never Trumpers" to AT LEAST KNOW THOSE PEOPLE ARE OUT THERE.
But LAKE?
Arizona basically said "No thanks, we're not interested in you," and her reaction has been to thump her MAGA chest and do the Tarzan yell and then the Cartman "You WILL respect mah AUTHORITAH" line.
And the more America tells Lake that they neither like nor want her, the more she doubles down.

As a proud Italian-American, Tacopina's "OH! FUGGEDABOUDIT" cartoon mob-speak sickens me.
Tacopina's parents were supposedly Italian immigrants. So was my grandmother. She came over on the boat from Naples.
From the accounts of what happened in the courtroom yesterday, Tacopina went for Jim Jordan-style "performance art," in full Brooklyn mob guy character.
Italians have a number of takes on guys like this. Personally, I know the wise guy / goodfella / Sylvio Dante from the Sopranos thing is so indelibly stamped on the American consciousness that I don't try to fight it. And I have known people, in my life and even in my own family, who love to wear that mask. I am at peace, more or less, with the fact that when some people hear "Italian" they are immediately going to connect that with "mob."
But Tacopina...other than being a thug who defends thugs...apparently thought it was cute to BE Silvio Dante in court yesterday, that the jurors would be amused, that it would "sell" his narrative of E Jean Carroll as a liar and an opportunist.
I hope that Trump loses this case for a number of reasons. First, I'll love seeing him write another check to cover his fat ass. But I think more than anything, THE WHEEL OF KARMA, the balance of life, the sanity of humanity, rests on Tacopina getting his corrupt, fat ass handed to him by the jury. Tacopina can't "win" this thing. This is a time when evil can't prevail. It MIGHT, I know. But here's hoping it DOESN'T.
Gaetz made it clear that Kev would be kissing his ass. Message received by smoochy Kev.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and his top allies have reversed course and changed their bill for raising the nations borrowing limit and agreed to make two major changes overnight in a bid to pass the package Wednesday in their standoff with the White House.
Its not clear if even those changes will yield enough support to pass the bill, as House Speaker McCarthy can only lose four votes in the narrowly divided House. Yet, after days of proclaiming that the bill was final and that no changes would be made, leadership caved realizing that without some of these tweaks, the bill didnt have a chance of passing.
Republicans agreed to allow proposed work requirements for Medicaid beneficiaries to be implemented on a quicker timetable a move intended to win over GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida and others who had warned they would vote against the bill without such changes.
Also, top Republicans agreed to remove a repeal of certain tax breaks for biofuels like ethanol an issue that prompted furious opposition from the four Iowa Republicans and some other midwestern lawmakers.

Here is the line Tacopina will pounce on once the trial is past opening statements.

The jurors appeared engaged during the opening statements. One could be seen taking notes. Another nodded vigorously when Shawn Crowley, a lawyer for Carroll, said in her opening statement that the jury might be wondering why on Earth Ms. Carroll let Donald Trump lead her into a dressing room? Crowley said that Carroll had blamed herself for what had happened.
