I have not seen him do it--but I only found out a while ago-this was a white power sign.

..........The White House moved swiftly on Tuesday to counteract Mr. Trumps contention that he had been forced into an agreement he dislikes, claiming victory on the spending package and arguing that the White House had actually outfoxed Democrats who were spoiling for a shutdown.
They wanted to try and make this president look like he could not govern, Mick Mulvaney, Mr. Trumps budget director, told reporters in a conference call. They wanted to make this president look like he did not know what he was doing, and he beat them on that at the very, very highest level.
He praised the large increase in military spending in the bill, which dwarfed the money for domestic programs, and said that although no wall funding had been included, increases for border technology, maintenance and repairs would help beef up security on the line between the United States and Mexico.
Democrats, Mr. Mulvaney added, were desperate to show that we were not reasonable, and we completely destroyed that narrative by negotiating this deal. This is a huge victory for the president.
But by publicly courting a future shutdown, an extraordinary move for a sitting president, Mr. Trump instead seemed to be confirming his reputation for rash statements that may yield little in the way of follow-through.
President Trump may not like what he sees in this budget deal, but its dangerous and irresponsible to respond by calling for a shutdown, said Senator Patty Murray, Democrat of Washington and the ranking members of the appropriations committee. Hopefully, Republicans in Congress will do for the next budget what they did for this one: ignore President Trumps demands, work with Democrats, and get it done.......................
msnbc. We are taking care of our military. Rump bragging last 5 minutes how the
budget will dramatically increase. Surrounded by military. over and over.
Several times knocking, mocking the Democrats also so far.

Following days of demonstrations against hate speech at a liberal arts college in Minnesota, the school has reached an agreement with student protesters.
.......................
...............................
The students had been protesting racism at the school in Northfield, Minn., since the weekend, when a black student reported having found a note on the windshield of her car that read: I am so glad that you are leaving soon. One less n‑‑‑‑‑ that this school has to deal with. You have spoken up too much. You will change nothing. Shut up or I will shut you up. Students gathered Saturday night inside a student union building, sharing their own on-campus experiences with racism and chanting: This ends now.
The protests continued through Monday, when students were expected to boycott. Then the school administration canceled classes so that we may have time for faculty, students, and staff to continue the discussions about racism and diversity on our campus, St. Olaf spokeswoman Kari VanDerVeen said at the time.

The racist note was the latest incident in a series of similar expressions against students.
Its been something thats been going on all year, Samantha Wells, a senior who said she found the racist note, told fellow students during the weekend demonstrations, according to the Northfield News. Weve done so much digging and this stuff has happened for decades. Theres one thing that happens and it stops and then it happens again and then it kind of stops. I think the big message is we shouldnt let this happen again. The administration needs to do something that stops it indefinitely...........................

.............The Times article links to the paper's 2015 report on the incident, which recounted how Trump bought the course in Virginianow renamed the Trump National Golf Clubback in 2009, and got to work getting it up to The Trump Standard. That included building a flagpole along the river complete with a plaque commemorating the "River of Blood," a dramatic name for a harrowing event that never happened. But the plaque begged to differ:
via NYTimes
"Many great American soldiers, both of the North and South, died at this spot," the inscription reads. "The casualties were so great that the water would turn red and thus became known as 'The River of Blood.'"
This actually sounds like it was dictated by Trump, who in a phone interview with the Times called himself "a big history fan." Reporters from the paper told him they'd spoken with multiple local historians, all of whom said there was no Civil War event within 11 miles of the plaque. The exchange that followed was quintessentially Trumpian:
"That was a prime site for river crossings," Mr. Trump said. "So, if people are crossing the river, and you happen to be in a civil war, I would say that people were shot a lot of them."
................
..............The Trump administration's history with history is so bad because they spend their days trying to warp reality to their own devices. Sometimes that bleeds from the present to the past, and leaves you with a River of Blood.

More than a year and a half before she faces re-election, Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin is confronting a controversial radio ad barrage.
On Thursday, several stations temporarily pulled the ad after a complaint was lodged by Baldwin's campaign. But Iowa-based Americas PAC is doubling down on its attack against Baldwin and is moving forward with a $650,000 ad buy.
On Friday, three radio station groups returned the ad to the air.
"There's 12,000-plus ads that will run over the next five months," said Tom Donelson, treasurer of the PAC. "I hope she has fun. We're ready to fight over the next five months."
Donelson said funding for the ad was provided by Solutions for Wisconsin, a super-PAC that received a $2 million cash infusion from GOP mega-donor Richard Uihlein. Solutions for Wisconsin has endorsed U.S. Marine veteran and businessman Kevin Nicholson, who has not yet formally declared his candidacy for an expected Republican Party primary.

Milwaukee May Day March Targets Sheriff Who Runs Jail Where Inmate Died After Week With No Water

Thousands converged upon the streets of Milwaukee on Monday to protest a controversial local sheriff who is not only aggressively advocating an immigration policy that authorizes local law enforcement to act as federal immigration agents, but also faced sharp criticism for the death of a man who died in his custody after not getting water for a week.
And on Monday afternoon, as protesters gathered at a Milwaukee courthouse, a jury recommended charging seven jail staffers with abuse of an inmate in the April 24, 2016 death of 38-year-old Terrill Thomas, the Associated Press reported.

The protesters had come by the hundreds on buses from at least twelve cities around the Badger State as a part of the "Day Without Latinos, Immigrants & Refugees," a statewide movement in conjunction with the May 1st national day of resistance for immigrant and worker rights.

At issue were questionable policies under tough-talking Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, who was in charge of Thomas when he died of dehydration after being kept in solitary confinement for seven days without water in April of 2016.
