Huma Abedin, the longtime aide to Hillary Clinton, asked a U.S. judge on Wednesday to allow her to review a search warrant the FBI used to gain access to emails related to Clinton's private server shortly before the Nov. 8 presidential election.
In a letter filed in Manhattan federal court, Abedin said she was never provided a copy of the warrant, nor was her estranged husband, former Democratic U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner, whose computer contained the emails in question.
The letter was filed as a federal judge considers whether to unseal the application for the search warrant, which was obtained after FBI Director James Comey informed Congress of newly discovered emails on Oct. 28.

U.S. District Judge Kevin Castel had invited affected parties to weigh in on the potential release of the search warrant application, which is being sought by Los Angeles-based lawyer Randol Schoenberg........................

Officials in 24 states have urged U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to kill the centerpiece of President Barack Obama's strategy to combat climate change and shut down coal-fired power plants.
The coalition requested the incoming Republican government undo the Clean Power Plan enacted by the current Democratic administration. The law was designed to lower carbon emissions mainly from coal-fired power plants by 2030 to 32 percent below 2005 levels.

The group, headed by West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, suggests Congress take action to prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from drafting similar regulations in the future.

NOW: Protestors Being Arrested as North Carolina Republican Lawmakers Attempt Coup Over Incoming Democratic Governor

About 6 Reportedly Arrested Including Local Lawmaker, Reporter
North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory fought the election results for a month, but in the end the longtime Republican with deep ties to GOP state lawmakers conceded to his Democratic opponent, Attorney General Roy Cooper. On Wednesday, Republican lawmakers, concluded a special session called by McCrory, and with nearly no notice, opened a new special session to address "emergencies."
Those emergencies included 28 bills, but were focused on just one: legislation that would strip the incoming Democratic governor of much of his power.
Right now, police are arresting protestors in the state house who are calling the Republicans' actions a veritable coup. Among those arrested is a local city council person:

Nancy Pelosi is now calling for an Independent commission to Investigate the Russian Hacking.
I think the one she called for the other day was for a Congressional Investigation--and she, at that time, called out Paul Ryan to do so also.

Conway has her knickers in a wad!: White House 'incredibly irresponsible' for suggesting Trump knew of Russian hacking

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnests assessment that President-elect Donald Trump may have known about Russian cyberattacks targeting the U.S. electoral process was breathtaking and very unfortunate, Trumps senior adviser Kellyanne Conway said Thursday morning.
Speaking at his daily press briefing, Earnest referenced a remark Trump made at his most recent formal press conference, held in July, when he publicly invited Russian hackers to search for emails deleted from the personal server of Hillary Clinton.
Trump later said he was being sarcastic when he made the remark, but Earnest said Wednesday that the comment might be an indication that he was obviously aware and concluded, based on whatever facts or sources he had available to him, that Russia was involved and their involvement was having a negative impact on his opponents campaign. Conway took exception to the press secretarys comment in an interview Thursday morning on Fox Newss Fox & Friends.
That is just remarkable. That is breathtaking. I guess he's auditioning to be a political pundit after his job is over soon. That is incredibly disappointing to hear from the podium of the White House press secretary, she said. Because he basically he essentially stated that the president-elect had knowledge of this, maybe even fanned the flames. It's incredibly irresponsible and I wonder if his boss, president Obama agrees..................

Left, Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, New York City; Right, a view of Trump Grill and its patrons.
.
Halfway through a recent late lunch at the Trump Grillthe clubby steakhouse in the lobby of Trump Tower that has recently become famous through the incessant media coverage of its namesake landlord, and the many dignitaries traipsing through its marbled hall to kiss his ringI sensed the initial symptoms of a Trump overdose. Thanks to an unprecedented influx of diners, we were sitting at a wobbly overflow table outside the restaurant, in the middle of a crush of tourists, some of whom were proposing to their partners, or waiting to buy Trump-branded merchandise, or sprinting to the bathroom.
As my companions and I contemplated the most painless way to eat our flaccid, gray Szechuan dumplings with their flaccid, gray innards, as a campy version of Jingle Bells jackhammered in the background, a giant gold box tied with red ribbon toppled onto us. Trump, it seemed, was already fighting against the War on Christmas.
Donald Trump is a poor persons idea of a rich person, Fran Lebowitz recently observed at The Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit. They see him. They think, If I were rich, Id have a fabulous tie like that. Nowhere, perhaps, does this reflection appear more accurate than at Trump Grill (which is occasionally spelled Grille on various pieces of signage). On one level, the Grill (or Grille), suggests the heights of plutocratic splendora steakhouse built into the basement of ones own skyscraper.

On another level, Trump Grill falls somewhat short of that lofty goal. The restaurant features a stingy number of French-ish paintings that look as though they were bought from Home Goods. Wall-sized mirrors serve to make the place look much bigger than it actually is. The bathrooms transport diners to the experience of desperately searching for toilet paper at a Venezuelan grocery store. And like all exclusive bastions of haute cuisine, there is a sandwich board in front advertising two great prix fixe deals.
The allure of Trumps restaurant, like the candidate, is that it seems like a cheap version of rich. The inconsistent menusliterally, my menu was missing dishes that I found on my dining partnerswere chock-full of steakhouse classics doused with unnecessarily high-end ingredients. The dumplings, for instance, come with soy sauce topped with truffle oil, and the crostini is served with both hummus and ricotta, two exotic ingredients that should still never be combined. The menu itself would like to impress diners with how important it is, randomly capitalizing fancy words like Prosciutto and Julienned (and, strangely, House Salad).....................

Shaheen questions whether Trump national security adviser pick should get secret clearance
Source: New Hampshire Union Leader
December 15. 2016
WASHINGTON Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, and a colleague called upon the nations law enforcement and personnel management executives to review whether President-elect Donald Trumps pick to be national security adviser should have a top secret clearance.
Shaheen and Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., wrote to the FBI director, White House director of personnel management and director of national intelligence questioning whether Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn should have this exclusive access to U.S. secrets given claims that Flynn leaked documents and owns a private intelligence company that has built-in conflicts of interest to his upcoming job.
Based on public reports, his conduct in positions that require access to national defense information, and his subsequent private practice, appears inconsistent with the professionalism such access requires, Shaheen and Blumenthal wrote.
General Flynn reportedly has a record of mishandling classified intelligence and repeatedly violated rules for protecting sensitive information.
