We got power last night around 7:30...

...and so far, it has stayed on. I was able to watch Chris Hayes, Rachel, Lawrence before starting to fall asleep and going to bed. This morning I was able to take ANOTHER shower...oh JOY!!!

I don't want to have to go through another week like that. Jesus, we can do better. It was like a 3rd world country and I'm one of the lucky ones. Our water froze Monday and we woke up to nothing in the pipes Tuesday morning. We are fortunate we have a hot tub to steal water from to flush toilets, but things could have gotten really bad. We rinsed dishes in water from the hot tub and wiped them with soapy cloth before rinsing with what little clean water we had. We had paper plates and cups we used. We had drinking water from the reservior of the water purifier..but we didn't know how much we had or how long we'd be without water. All of this is very luxurious compared to what most Texans had to endure.

One of the patients I called to check on told me that all this was due to liberals being against fossil fuels. it was very hard to keep my jaws clenched and not let the words fly.

At least for the moment...

I have lights! I have water! I got to take a shower and wash my hair this morning! I had coffee made in the coffee maker. The electricity came on around 4:20 this morning...it's been over an hour! Maybe it'll stay on! It's up to 30 degrees outside and it's raining. Still not good to drive, but maybe without the crazy cold temps we'll be able to hang onto our lights and water. It's not fun to be without electricity, but it's terrible being without water.

Trump has no power....he is no longer President. He no longer holds office...Yet he holds so much power over the Repubs in Senate. Really, is it really that they’re afraid of being primaried? How much longer do they expect him to even be relevant or even alive? He’s a fat, old, unhealthy, stupid white guy who is courting dementia and will probably be forgotten in a couple of years, yet they act like he has the reins to reality wrapped around their necks. I’m telling you....he’s got something on all of them. I keep sayin’...just wait.

I've been hearing that folks no longer trust Fox News...

...as if they were ever trustworthy to deliver truth and accuracy in news reporting. But I've heard this from a number of different "conservative" acquaintances and clients. I haven't asked what they mean because I don't want to get into politics with them at work. But I wonder if they have made the assessment against Fox because Fox said Biden won the election, or because of some other reason...I mean there are plenty of reasons that existed WELL before the election. But I wonder what's on their minds lately. Does anybody have a clue about this new talking point?

Does anyone else think it's more than a lust for power...

...that keeps Republicans tethered to Trump? Anyone with eyes can see, or a brain can understand the destruction Trump has done to the Republican party, indeed to our Constitutional Democracy, yet they continue to do his bidding, continue to pretend he is the way, the truth, and the light. I keep thinking it's something much more compelling than mere power that holds them. I think it's stone, cold terror. Someone has something on all of them and they are afraid of shame and/or prison. Is anyone trying to figure out what it is that is holding them?

Jezussss, the insanity! They truly do live on a different planet, calling Trump the honorable law and order president! I spit coffee all over the keyboard. It is highly entertaining over there, especially now that they are pissing and crapping up both legs.

The real problem is that we live in two universes.

If you've tried to reach out to "the other side" you know they have a completely different reality. The shit they come up with is mind boggling. My ex-friend yesterday told me "when they blatantly steal an election, people are going to rise up." What F***** planet do they live on? 60 cases in court and not a single piece of credible evidence of election fraud? Where do they get this shit? How sealed off from reality do they have to be and how do they manage it? But as long as this chasm between realities exist, we will not heal this wound.

Andrea Mitchell says the Senate won't impeach Trump...

...but I say, maybe they will. How many members were pissing up their own legs yesterday? How many votes do we need?
