Don't need a Brit. We always knew, but with liars denying it now, keep the truth coming.

We've got RW think tanks and baggers in state offices and Congress trying to revise history. Don't let them get away with it!

Anyone who read American writers, the classic fiction of Mark Twain, or took in the teachings of Frederick Douglass, Sojourner Truth or Harriet Tubman knew what was going on. This is American History 101. Or it was when I was in high school in the sixties.

Plus the crooked sharecropper scheme, Jim Crow, Brown vs. Bd. of Ed., the NIght Riders of the KKK and why they did it, lynchings and all of that. We not only read it, we saw it in the news as the Civil Rights era was again ignited.

The issue of having a drop of black blood and paper bag test was obvious. It was the idea that there was somehow with the color of one's skin, How insane.

The Civil War came out of Confederate philosophy. It was obvious why they are still called traitors to this day, no matter how they try to white wash their anti-American views:

That's part of the thread about a GOPher trying to sanitize slavery. Have the American people forgotten or were never taught? Really?

After the Civil War ended and Lincoln killed by a Confederate sympathizer, Reconstruction came under attack. The crimes of the KKK followed by more abuse and discrimination, enslavement through the judicial and economic system, the murders of civil rights leaders and unjust imprisonment, have not ended but Holder is changing that. We know this, don't we?

Anyone forgot the Lee Atwater's Southern Strategy, or just the insanity media reports to us daily? I don't think so.

There was a film starring Oprah Winfrey, Beloved, which deals with a part of what these famous women went through as described here. But it was known!

The famous conductor of the Underground Railroad:

The woman whose speech 'Ar'n't I a Woman?' is best remembered, but her life was so much more:

http://www.pbs.org/thisfarbyfaith/people/sojourner_truth.html

I don't need a movie to feel horrified, but maybe some do. And I do give credit the Brits for their outlawing slavery. It was a long time coming there, and streets in black neighborhoods were often named after the man who dedicated his life to ending the slave trade, despite years of opposition, William Wilburforce.

His first speech for abolition was in 1789 and stayed with it until 1833. He died 3 days after hearing an act to abolish slavery passed. It took half a century. The USA abolished it thirty years later during the Civil War, but it was not enforced until the Union army occupied the South. That's what it took to end that form of insanity.

None of these people were perfect, all of it took a long time, and we still need to transform ourselves now. Until we all get it and talk back to the liars.

Never Gonna Happen! Switzerland will never surrender their national symbol:

They belong to the canton of Thurgau in Northeast Switzerland. So they can live there, presumably at the Cuckoo House:

Both Bachmanns and their three kids are now Swiss citizens. I see an extended holiday in their future. Say, twenty or thirty years.

Just sayin'

Nope, but I just went there for you with google images:

Bears are involved at the beginning:

Putin asks: A Russian bear defecting to Alaska?

Palin is safely kept in a bubble in the corner of this picture of a bear moocher:

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_uzVZA7KHnGA/TE-S9VUqdWI/AAAAAAAABR4/Hzl6gy_IusU/s400/palin+meets+bear.jpg

Maybe not safely kept in a bubble. See Sarah. See Sarah's gun. No killing. Yet:

See Putin. See Putin's gun. He's really 'loaded for bear.' Should Putin put his shirt on? No killing yet:

Classic campaign poster of Palin quote and with Putin spying at Alaska in 2008. Yes, their voters saw that as foreign policy experience:

And that's the year when everything went wrong:

Video: Watch Sarah Palin shoot Alex Ovechkin with a hunting rifle

Warning: This satirical video does contain some graphic images and a violent scene of wild-game hunting that aired on TLC's "Sarah Palin's Alaska" recently. With that out of the way, here's one of the oddest places we've ever seen Alex Ovechkin (notes) show up in pop culture:

The video comes from Tauntr.com, with the following description:

After finding out America wouldn't get to host the 2022 World Cup, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin decided to get rid of some pent up rage the most patriotic way she knows how - hunting. Although her and her crack squad of assassins were out for some caribou, they stumbled across a much more rare and prized trophy, one native to Russia that must've somehow crossed the Bering Strait and invaded Palin's beloved home of Alaska.

By linking to this video from Tauntr, Puck Daddy in no way endorses the politics or potential presidential candidacy of Sarah Palin; nor the ideology of those who oppose her; nor the shooting of wild game; nor the shooting of dancing Russians that appear in commercials for discount auto dealers in the D.C. metropolitan area; nor the shooting of Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals or any NHL player; nor the state of Alaska, the Bering Strait and Russia; nor wascally wabbits, Mr. Elmer Fudd or another other standard-bearer of the hunting parody.

The video referred to is linked to another website with comments and is named:

Palin's Huntin' Wussians

I didn't watch, but some can 'bear' it. A deluded comment from the site:

Palin is going to energize the Conservative base and helps to esunre the GOP continues towards Conservatism but that's another story for another blogpost. We as Conservatives can continue to heal, equalize and more importantly UNIFY to FIGHT AGAINST the Obamessiah. She clearly isn't a Beltway Basic. She isn't a DC Poison Drinker. She will be a Voice for Conservatism. She is pro-gun, pro-life, young enough to be a bridge to the next and growing generation of GOP'ers, a family woman, her life revolves around family. She's positive, good-looking (1. Don't think that doesn't count and 2. Ever notice how GOP women are predominantly positive and attractive, and Demorat women are predominantly negative and unattractive?), athletic, decisive, determined, considered, intelligent. I also think she'll be tough enough, convinced enough, driven enough to make it through the DEM media bombast and shit that you KNOW the MSM will hurl at her in order to see what sticks. First issue: the MSM will attack Palin for abandoning her Downs infant for campaigning. Trust me on this. Just wait and see what kind of coverage the GOP Convention gets this coming week whatever coverage is provided will be short, negative. NO Love Fest whatsoever. McCain CAN pull this off against Obama.BZ

That's all for now, gotta go.

OTOH, Obama and Kerry have been proven truth tellers now:

The Chemical Weapons Convention that 189 nations are signed onto is doing its job well. All nations signed on are working to destroy their stockpiles, stop the use and production of WMD. That includes chemical, nuclear, biological and radiological weaponry. It is this convention that created the framework for the intelligence to let all of the world see there is a better way to live.

Tax dollars spent for peace and justice. The progress is astounding:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_Weapons_Convention

Bolstering Obama and Kerry's case, this just came from of all places, IRAN:

Iran ex-president says Syria government launched gas attacks: news agency

(Reuters) - Former Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said the Syrian government, a strong ally of Tehran, had carried out chemical weapons attacks against its own people, the semi-official Iranian Labour News Agency reported on Sunday.

"The people have been the target of chemical attacks by their own government and now they must also wait for an attack by foreigners," Rafsanjani said, according to ILNA. "The people of Syria have seen much damage in these two years."

That was posted by Sand Wind here:

That thread should be Rec'd to the Moon by those who have repeatedly called Obama, Kerry, the USA government and its intelligence forces a bunch of warmongering liars.

Want world peace and Obama's agenda on equality and the social safety net to advance?

Rec the thread since they did not lie, did not try to cowboy us into a war.

There is an outbreak of sanity in Iran today that is happening only because we have a President who didn't run for office by singing 'Bomb Iran,' nor a Christian Dominionist like Palin or the Pauls, bent on destroying Muslims.

The Iranians suffered the worst number of casualties in modern history through Sarin by Saddam Hussein through his Neo-Con pals in the GOP. They have been arguing with Assad for a long time and giving him money.

Our votes for Obama and Kerry are justified by the 'enemy.'

I'm not seeing this a loss for Obama, as opposed to what geek tragedy may be saying. The truth is out - Obama and Kerry told the facts and did not want a war for profit or conquest..

I've seen Obama stake out unpopular positions so horrifying to our base, that their screams ignited similar protests from the right. Then the GOP had to back down from positions that Obama could not get them to give up otherwise.

Since the GOP wanted us to bomb both Syria and Iran as part of their PNAC list, with Obama playing the bad guy, no party will touch those ideas again. Obama has a limited time in office and has always stated he is laying the groundwork for what will happen when he's gone.

It's not about ego with Obama or those who seek to save lives. It's about saving lives. Obama has united us in this way the only way that 'sides' ever unite with common cause, and both sides took the bait.

JMHO.

I'm paying attention, just haven't run across your posts much. I hope these are in your Journal.

If Kitty Wampus hadn't said something about checking her Journal last night, I would have missed a lot of information.

I find this OP to show a path to a just peace in Syria made through the pressure of its allies, the most lasting kind in most cases. No matter what our issues are with Iran, no nation is all of one mind. It's the loud mouths that try to speak for all.

I'm disappointed those who have called Kerry a liar are not here Recing this as something to bolster their isolationist stance. This is a way out to avoid a military strike and that is what they say their goal is. Not just to bash a Dem administration for a GOP win in 2014.

This OP should garner the Recs bashing threads do. Because it's about saving lives, isn't it?

GOP logic revealed: The War On Americans is an important task, and we intend to win!

*We have always been the party of isolationists!*

Isolating unworthy people from wages, housing, food and healthcare means they'll die faster.

It is WAR, after all.

And a lesson to Americans to NOT get uppity.

Besides, who's gonna miss 30 million people?

Not us, unless they're NOT born yet or talking back!

*Unless our man is in office and the contracts are all signed, then we'll party like there's no tomorrow!*

The signs are very telling, aren't they?

First sign is a reverse of keeping Republicans out of women's bodies.

The next is a Randian meme of how doctors office are not found in nature, so let's abolish all medicine, anyway.

The last is really special, the racists show their Freudian slips again.

But he kept smiling! This one called 'Obama Gives Putin Historic Death Stare At The G20 Summit':

Via CNBC's Eamon Javers, this is President Barack Obama giving Russian President Vladimir Putin a significantly intense death stare upon their meeting at the G20 summit in St. Petersburg, Russia.
