What DOWN-BALLOT races are you most interested in?

Obama will win California without breaking a sweat and Dianne Feinstein is cruising to re-election. So I am looking at three state/local elections that are pivotal in their own ways. California Prop 29 will raise taxes on those with the highest incomes and restore funding to public education and other crucial programs. In San Francisco, David Lee is challenging vulnerable incumbent Eric mar for District 1 San Francisco Supervisor. Finally, there is an open seat for the San Francisco Unified School District Board of Education. What LOCAL races are you looking at?

Romney tells Kelly Ripa he wears "as little as possible" to bed.

In an interview with Ripa and Strahan that included a rapid round of wide-ranging questions, Romney and his wife, Ann, offered up a trove of surprising new information.

Asked what he wears to bed, Romney said: “I hear the best answer is as little as possible.” That inclination on Romney’s part is no doubt a challenge at times, given his wife’s predilection for hogging the blankets — another detail of their lives that he provided in response to one of Ripa’s questions......

Ann Romney, meanwhile, recounted a time when she and Anita Perry, wife of Texas Gov. Rick Perry, went exploring in the White House. They opened a door and discovered then-President George W. Bush having a massage.

Romney walks into a forearm shiver.

Mitt Romney has picked a big fight fraught with political risks amid an ongoing foreign-policy crisis with heartbreaking and murderous consequences for the U.S. diplomatic corps.

And by the end of the day on Wednesday, he walked straight into a forearm shiver from the commander-in-chief—one that may leave a mark and intensify scrutiny of Romney’s foreign-policy qualifications.

“Governor Romney seems to have a tendency to shoot first, aim later,” President Obama told CBS News in an interview conducted by correspondent Steve Kroft. “And as president, one of the things I’ve learned is, you can’t do that. It’s important for you to make sure that the statements that you make are backed up by the facts."

When Kroft asked Obama if he was accusing Romney of being irresponsible, the president said: “I’ll let the American people judge that.”

Romney and his entire team dug in amid criticism from Democrats and public second-guessing in some Republican quarters about the wisdom of using a foreign-policy crisis that left four Americans dead to initiate a broader debate with Obama on his post-Arab Spring policies. The core of Romney’s criticism was that the U.S. Embassy in Cairo sought to appease menacing protesters threatening their compound and did not immediately denounce them or Libyan protesters after U.S. diplomatic territory in both nations was compromised.

Republican senators endorse Howard Berman against other CA Democrat.

Three high-profile senators, Republicans Sens. John McCain, Lindsey Graham and independent Joe Lieberman, endorsed Democratic Rep. Howard Berman Monday in his intra-party race against Democratic Rep. Brad Sherman.

Sherman won the first round of the "top-two" primary.

“Time and again, Howard has been my partner in confronting the toughest foreign policy issues facing our country," Lieberman said in a press release.

Don't get too excited about Jennifer Granholm.

She gave a great speech at the convention, but she did almost nothing when she was governor. I lived Michigan during her first term. Sure she had Republican opposition, but se never FOUGHT for anything or anyone. She may have given great presentations, but she was ultimately an empty suit.

Paul Ryan Quietly Requested Obamacare Cash

Republican vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan is barnstorming the country, promising to repeal every provision of the Affordable Care Act if the Romney-Ryan ticket is elected. But a letter he wrote to the Obama administration may undermine this message.

On December 10, 2010, Ryan penned a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services to recommend a grant application for the Kenosha Community Health Center, Inc to develop a new facility in Racine, Wisconsin, an area within Ryan’s district. “The proposed new facility, the Belle City Neighborhood Health Center, will serve both the preventative and comprehensive primary healthcare needs of thousands of new patients of all ages who are currently without healthcare,” Ryan wrote.

The grant Ryan requested was funded directly by the Affordable Care Act, better known simply as healthcare reform or Obamacare.

The letter, among several obtained by The Nation and The Investigative Fund through a Freedom of Information Act request, is a stark reminder that even the most ardent opponents of Obamacare privately acknowledge many of the law’s benefits.

Obama will win the election here in the West.

Looking at Romney's dismal numbers among Latinos, I just do not see how he wins in Nevada, Colorado or New Mexico. And if we can't pick up one or more of these, he'll need to run the table in the rest of the country to get 270.
