Today's cluster - The Wall

So, who has heard anyone on media call out Repubs for the following:

1. The pResdent claimed the wall would be paid for by Mexico, why is this coming down to a Govt shutdown?
2. You lost 40 seats in the House, you lost the total vote for the House and Senate by millions, the people have spoken, why is this coming down to a Govt shutdown?
3. The Repubs had control of the House and the Senate for two years, why is this coming down to a Govt shutdown after two years?
4. The Senate passed a resolution yesterday, how is your leadership, including the pResdent, so inept as to not clearly defining your objectives and working together to get them through both the House and Senate?

What we do hear, OVER AND OVER AND OVER, is "this was a campaign promise." (As if the pResident deserves to have his side heard)

Again time to be blunt. I don't give a shit what the corrupt, under multi investigations, resident in the White House promised, he lost and he lost BIGLY!

It is truly amazing how the MSM frames every issue for Repukes. If the Dems and Obama would have pulled this type of cluster fuck in December 2010 the media would be framing things much differently.

1. Obama is in over his head.
2. Obama is not listening to the will of the people.
3. Democrats are in disarray and can't govern.
4. This shows why the voting public threw the Dems to the curb.

From WP and reported on Rachel, why would Mueller be requesting the Stone testimony to the House?

Rachel brought up that an official transcript is required for the Grand Jury. Fair enough, but why now, why not wait for a couple of weeks and request it from Adam Schiff? Are they going to be working on things that hard over the Holidays? It seems like they have plenty enough in the pipeline to keep them going?

Unless they are making a point of requesting it while Devon Nunes (T) is in charge.

This is how you win folks, you don't wait for the easy path, you can always double back and take that path. You hit the traitorous MOTHER FUCKERS IN THE TEETH! You ruin traitor Devon's Christmas, you make it clear that you are going to knock this Mother Fucker out. And you don't give two shits over the pressure exerted on Nunes, his family, and his party.

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III asked the House Intelligence Committee on Friday for an official transcript of Trump adviser Roger Stone’s testimony, according to people familiar with the request, a sign that prosecutors could be moving to charge him with a crime.

It is the first time Mueller has formally asked the committee to turn over material the panel has gathered in its investigation of Russian interference of the 2016 campaign, according to the people.

The move suggests that the special counsel is moving to finalize his months-long investigation of Stone — a key part of Mueller’s inquiry into whether anyone in President Trump’s orbit coordinated with the Russians.

Stone, who has advised Trump on and off for decades and was in contact with the candidate during the 2016 campaign, has been a focus of the special counsel as Mueller probes whether the Trump campaign had advance knowledge of WikiLeaks’s release of Democratic emails allegedly hacked by Russian operatives.

"It is like a manhood thing for him"

The as if manhood.... statement will be the fuse that lit up tRump.

“It’s like a manhood thing for him,” she said of the wall, according to an aide who was present. “As if manhood could ever be associated with him. This wall thing.”

Over/Under for tRumps approval ratings next week

Sadly I say he will lose only 1 to 3 points. Even sadder, if someone says no change, I wouldn't argue.

If a person is still a Republican, then they are a fucking asshole.

This really isn't that hard folks.

I still see talking heads talking about what Dems can do to reach out, contemplating a softening of the message.

There is nothing that can be done to reach out to a person that supports ripping a child from his/her mother. There is no way to soften the message. A person that supports tRump, a person that supports ripping a child from his/her mother, that person is a MOTHER FUCKING ASSHOLE. A person that supports a person who aligns with Russians, that person is a MOTHER FUCKING ASSHOLE.

I don't care if that person is a parent, a sibling, a boss, a long time friend. THAT PERSON IS A MOTHER FUCKING ASSHOLE.

It is an extremely uncomfortable position that we find ourselves in, but we didn't put ourselves into the position, they did. It will take a great deal of personal fortitude to get ourselves out of this uncomfortable position, but again, that is due to them, not us.

They are a mother fucking asshole, solution is simple, quit being a Republican.

Remember prior to the election when MSNBC went to UC Irvine and pushed the idea .......

that students won't vote.

This issue I immediately had was where students were interviewed, at a bus stop where students who take the bus for an hour are gathered. The students most likely to be busting their asses of to make it through school. Many first generation Americans, working a job and going to school.

Now literally above where MSNBC performed the interview is a foot bridge used by students who walk from the surrounding apartments to school. Turns out the voters from those apartments went for the D candidate, by a 9 to 1 margin.

I understand why the reporters picked the spot, largest gathering spot near the campus in the early morning. Issue is they got a group of 25 to 30 students and made an assumption. A group that would be heavily skewed to 18 and 19 year olds rather than 18 to 23 year olds. Then we (collectively) bitch about the lack of youth vote. In my district it appears that the youth vote delivered a Dem Rep to a district that was + 8 Repuke.

In just six precincts in and around UC Irvine, Democratic congresswoman-elect Katie Porter won 91 percent of ballots, beating two-term GOP Rep. Mimi Walters by 5,300 votes. Though those districts accounted for only 2 percent of all ballots cast in the race, they supplied Porter with nearly half her winning margin. Before being elected to represent the 45th Congressional District, Porter was a UC Irvine law professor.

For those of you freaking about the lack of time for Flynn - Please read this article

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/12/how-scared-should-trump-be-of-mueller-ask-john-gotti-or-sammy-the-bull

With that bit of submission out of the way, our conversation soon found a more fruitful path. But did Robert Mueller ever get a first-hand hint of Sammy the stone-cold killer? The answer to that question remains part of the secret history of the Gotti case. All that is known with certainty is that Mueller agreed to the deal that would make Gravano the government’s star witness, the lynchpin of the federal case. In return, a murderer with 19 notches on his gun would wind up spending not much more time in jail than a deadbeat dad.

Here is the problem with the Republican mindset

Bush/Cheney failed miserably in the run up to the 911 attacks, well documented that they ignored (at best) warnings.

Then the same admin failed at tracking down Bin Laden. In fact W said it really wasn't that important.

Team Obama acted on intelligence, took a chance at taking out Bin Laden, (failure would have likely made Obama a one term President) and successfully took out Bin Laden.

Republicans gave him no credit, in fact they claimed it was all Bush people who succeeded all will ignoring Bush failures in the 911 attack.

Now we have Republicans claiming that the successful mission was a failure due to being too late, that Clinton messed up originally, (a one they have used since 2001) and that the military lead on the successful mission was a failure.

Seems like they are incapable of taking any personal responsibility.

They also have no issue with criticizing military personnel for being perceived as political ONLY when that person goes against Republican beliefs, in all other cases they will argue that military personnel should not be questioned.

I am Progressive, white male, Nancy Pelosi is not progressive enough for me

And she should be the next Speaker of the House. She earned it. She can have it for two years, she can take it and transition it.

To add, you do not start off conceding to Repukes and that is exactly how the media and Repukes will categorize anyone else other than Pelosi becomes Speaker.

Remember all of those investigate journalist stories on how Orange County voted D in 2016?

For the first time since 1936, The OC actually went for the Democratic Presidential candidate in 2016. "Behind the Orange Curtain," "Where Republicans go to die." The friggen county went blue. FFS, that is like San Francisco going red! Surely you all saw the media focus on The OC!

You remember all of those stories right? CNN had a town hall with disaffected Republican voters. Hell, MSNBC practically camped out in Irvine. Reminded everyone how Clinton won the popular vote and how tRump MUST reach out to everyone, because there clearly wasn't a mandate.

Oh wait, that didn't happen, the camped out in West Virginia, Kentucky, and other red states and sold tRump. They found every anti-Clinton person and gave them air time.

So now we are have the potential of ALL of OC going blue in House districts. A clean damn sweep from 3/4 of the house seats being red, to ALL House seats being blue.

Two points:

1. The MSM doesn't report the news, they try to create a reality.

2. For those DU family members who claim the media is interested in a horse race, contests sell, etc. I offer you the latest example to refute the claim, The OC! If the media was focused on horse races/competitions, they would have driven less an hour down the road from the 2nd largest media market in the States and focused on what was happening in OC. There would have been Town Halls with OC Republicans who voted for Hillary and the constant point that tRump lost by over 3 million votes. Furthermore, the next month would include a saturation of media stories on what happened in the OC! tRump has lost The OC!

I doubt there will be more than passing comments on what happened behind the Orange Curtain. A County of over 3 million people flipped. Consider that the next time you see stories from states focusing on tRump supporters. States that are less than or basically equal to the size of The OC get the focus. Hell, I can't recall the last time I saw focus on what a New Yorker, Los Angeleno, Chicagoan was thinking.

The MSM is biased, and it has nothing to do with horse races/competitions.
