femmocrat's JournalWho is in the hospital? (Trump press conference)
He keeps talking about how one of the senators is "in the hospital" --- he must have said it ten times. He is saying they will postpone the healthcare vote until Jan. or Feb. because they will have the votes after reconciliation.
I hope to God he is not in the WH by then.
Steve Bannon endorses Scott Wagner (R) for governor of PA.
What Wagner was talking about, Bannon told the crowd, was not about beating just Democrats but also the Republican establishment.
The first thing we've got to get through is a corrupt and incompetent Republican establishment, Bannon told the crowd to cheers.

Kasich is very two-faced.
He works very hard at portraying the average, moderate, guy-next-door, but is really a right-winger. He just seems moderate when compared to trump, cruz, et al.
This is from an article from the primaries, but it's the first thing that popped up on Google:
The people in Ohio who know him are stunned that he has been allowed to get away with calling himself a moderate, said Sandy Theis, executive director of the liberal thinktank Progress Ohio.
He is a climate change denier, he has had a scandal in his heavily championed support of charter schools, unemployment has gone down but poverty has risen in the state, we have a terrible infant mortality rate for African American babies I could go on. Maybe the middle has moved so far to the right that there is no genuine moderate in the Republican race anymore, she said.

Pretty much sums him up.
Poldark comes back this week! :woohoo:

I have been looking up the photo of Dr. King kneeling in Selma in 1965. He knelt on one knee while others in the march knelt on two.
Interesting how this has evolved into a lesson on the history of the civil rights movement. Now I have to go research whether Kaepernick was honoring Dr. King when he took that position the first time.
To be honest, I didn't pay a whole lot of attention until yesterday. Thanks, trump. So much to think about today!
I stopped going when I could no longer read anyone's name tags.
I think that was the 30th.
Our class had its 50th recently. I didn't go. It would have involved staying in a hotel and putting the dogs in a kennel. Plus the cost of the evening and clothes, hair appointment, etc. I just couldn't justify the expenses to see people who I barely knew 50 years ago.
On a positive note though, our 15th reunion was a lot of fun. Not that many people went and it was very laid-back. I guess it depends on how many decades have passed.
One of the best posts I have read in a long time.
Thanks for expressing what so many of us are thinking! I just don't have the knack for writing that you have!
I want to move on already and focus on 2018. Has anyone noticed that we have A LOT of attractive young fresh faces running for Congress next year?! I see them on Twitter all the time.
Also, the democrats have won six out of six state house races since the election! We have a lot to be optimistic about.
Monarch watchers: I saw three Monarchs on my zinnias yesterday!
I felt like I was in a dream, they were so beautiful!
Of course my camera was in the house.
I am in western PA. I have a small patch of milkweeds not far from the zinnias. I had three caterpillars and one adult Monarch earlier this summer. I wonder if the adults I saw today were those former caterpillars?
I hope I'm helping them in my small way.
My grandmother lost her first husband and two baby sons in the Flu epidemic.
I don't know anything else about them.... Such sad family history and it is now lost forever.
She remarried and had nine more children. One of the boys died in the Pacific in WW2. I could probably find out information about him. I just know that he is buried in the Philippines. Sad.....
