a wiser man wouldve observed the news from the Gulf Coast and left out the bullshit laugh line about the rising sea levels.

OOPS: Mitt Romney Calls United States A Company
By Annie-Rose Strasser on Aug 31, 2012 at 11:05 am
Mitt Romney is focused on convincing Americans that his private-sector business record qualifies him to be President, which is perhaps why he accidentally called the United States of America a company instead of a country on Friday.
While Romney has spoken extensively about running the government more efficiently, like a private business, he has never compared the entire American enterprise to an actual business enterprise. But today, at an event in Florida, Romney did just that, saying his administration will reach out to people who want to make sure this company deals with its challenges:
Paul Ryan and I understand how the economy works, we understand how Washington works, we will reach across the aisle and find good people who like us, want to make sure this company deals with its challenges. Well get America on track again.

Why They Want to Suppress the Elderly Vote
Why They Want to Suppress the Elderly Vote
by Carl, 08/31/2012, 7:57 AM
Before the Republican convention, Id have said that the GOP ID card requirements to vote in various states were mostly going after minorities and the poor. And that the suppression of the elderly that goes along with it is a side effect against a group of people who generally vote for them: Suppress more black votes than elderly votes, and you still get a more Republican electorate.
But after hearing Clint Eastwoods speech* I think they want to suppress them because the elderly people theyre around have lost it. Now, dont get me wrong, Clint Eastwood has had a fantastic career as an actor and a director. And I think he deserves the right to vote.
But if youre a Republican, and all of the old people around you are yelling at Obama in an empty chair, well, at a certain point, you dont want them voting either. I see it now. My advice would be to spend time with a wider array of the elderly.
* And for serious, I just listened to it on the radio, so I didnt realize he was talking to an empty chair. Im not sure if that makes it worse or better, but at least it fills in some gaps.

Ann Romney: Were Used To Passing Up Multi-Million Dollar Jobs
By Aviva Shen and Annie-Rose Strasser on Aug 31, 2012 at 10:23 am
On Friday, Fox & Friends asked Ann Romney if it was difficult for the couple to turn down a $30 million job offer after Mitt lost the 2008 presidential nomination. Ann, who has been trying to help her husband connect with middle class voters, replied that such job opportunities are commonplace for the former governor and CEO:
BRIAN KILMEADE (HOST): The report is after Mitt Romney lost to John McCain for the nomination, he got an offer from a fund, $30 million a year, go back into the financial world, have all types of success. How hard was the decision not to do that?
ROMNEY: Well, were used to kind of passing offers up like that. For us, our life is not about making money. Weve been very blessed financially. Our life is now about giving back. I always trust that Mitt can always make another dollar. Poor guy, he took no pay when he did the Olympics for three years and no pay when he was governor for four years.
