Someone finally found Forrest Fenn's hidden treasure

SANTA FE, N.M. -- Famed art and antiquities collector Forrest Fenn, who hid $1 million in treasure in the Rocky Mountain wilderness a decade ago, said Sunday that the chest of goods has been found.

Fenn, 89, told the Santa Fe New Mexican that a treasure hunter located the chest a few days ago.

"The guy who found it does not want his name mentioned. He's from back East," Fenn said, adding that it was confirmed from a photograph the man sent him. Fenn did not reveal exactly where it had been hidden.

Fenn posted clues to the treasure's whereabouts online and in a 24-line poem that was published in his 2010 autobiography "The Thrill of the Chase."

The New White House Fence Is Getting Covered In Protest Art

This will make the history books! Trump afraid of his own people inside the Chicken Coop! LOL

Kelsey Proud Julie Strupp

As the protests over police brutality and the killing of George Floyd ramped up in the past week, the administration of Donald Trump increasingly fortified the area around the White House.

Entrances to Pennsylvania Avenue and E Street NW, the Ellipse, and Lafayette Square are barricaded by about 1.7 miles of mesh metal fences and guarded by police. The Secret Service said last week that the entire area around the “White House complex” would remain closed until June 10.

Meanwhile, Mayor Muriel Bowser has expressed concern that some of the measures may be be permanent.

The barriers have been a jarring sight for many Washingtonians, long used to free access to spaces that serve as a symbol of democracy and where First Amendment protests have played out for over a century. Throughout the week, protesters could often be heard pressed up against the fence, chanting “This is what democracy looks like.”

While the closest the public can get to the White House is about 600 feet away, the fence around the people’s house is being reclaimed by the people again.

Driving through MT, WY, NM and CO I noticed all the interpretive signs are about European explorers

battles between European explorers and Native Americans etc. I do think these are important to show but I also think whenever possible these historical markers should also include some history of the Native American tribes who lived in the area or have a second sign alongside the one about the European explorers. Everything is about Louis & Clark, Kit Carson, Zebulon Pike, Coronado etc. etc. Of course when there are Native American ruins they are covered but it just seems like so much is dedicated to how Europeans explored the area and conquered the Indigenous people.

Am I being too picky here? Just an observation I had the past week on my travels and I was probably more tuned into this sort of thing with all the protesting going on. Not to mention as I looked at a sign about Zebulon Pike this AM in CO near the Great Sand Dunes, I was looking at the area wondering what the native tribes in the area were like.

Maybe we could get some sort of bill introduced for equal representation?
