I am so sorry to see this insane, inexplicable carnage. It just makes NO sense. All it does make - is negativity.
We can't and mustn't EVER be muzzled. Whether it's by North Korean hackers who don't like a movie or Islamic extremists wrapping themselves in some distorted view of "religion" who don't like satire or comic strips, or even when it comes to being able to discuss what have become sensitive topics here in this country - like a woman's right to choose and gun control.
And on another note - it feeds my soul to see and hear and French. Don't get that many opportunities to savor that beautiful, melodic, and downright sexy language here in SoCal. And that was the language I studied all through elementary and high school.

Glad you're here! When I see a low post count, I usually jump all over 'em... to say "Welcome to DU!" More often than not, though, it's someone who actually has been around here for awhile and just hadn't posted too frequently. Glad you're here, whether you've been a longtime lurker OR a more recent arrival.

So am I! Let's not forget - those nice GOPers want to make sure that all gets taken away from you.
Let's not forget that. We FOUGHT for this. And we're still fighting. And as long as they draw breath, we'll have to keep fighting. This will NEVER be won. Just look at how they're targeting Social Security now, and when was that instituted? During FDR? And we're STILL fighting it?
I think some of our Dems think that - well, it's done. We got it. We won. Let's go back to sleep. And we can't. Because the enemy NEVER sleeps at all. And if we expect to stay ahead of them, and protect the ground we've gained - much less build upon it or try to expand it, we're never going to be able to sleep at all, either.
We're going to have to start learning to stay awake and stay vigilant, if we're ever going to get anywhere with progressive values and policies. They've certainly found a way to do that in the enemy camp. Why can't we?
