About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

I went back and double-checked the numbers from the photo I took

at that moment.

That's how I document this stuff. Grab a shot of it as soon as I see one of those graphics. Then copy down the numbers.

Ironically enough, now that we're up to an alarming 6,516,077 confirmed cases and 194,854 deaths (as of the last graphic I spotted), there's less of the rotating graphics we used to see at the right side of the TV screen all through the morning programming. It'd switch through two sets of maps of the US, countries with most cases, states with most cases, states with most recent cases (in the last 72 hours), and the world/US stats. I always went with that last one. But now things are simplified - even as the these numbers are astonishingly, hideously high. Nosebleed high.

The Daily Dread - Tracking the spread, 9/13/20

All times Pacific, source: Johns Hopkins/NBC News

At 8:41am - domestic data only
Confirmed cases US - 6,516,077 **
Deaths US - 194,854 *

* Yep. I was expecting this straight away.

** I didn't expect to see this one flip this quickly.

I notice she doesn't capitalize "trump" either.

I refuse to do him that honor. He's small letters all the way (unless I'm YELLING at him or about him). He's always gonna be 'the donald" to me (in honor of Ivana, his first wife and mother of his three older kids, who he cheated on and threw over for a younger, blonder, and if memory serves, pregnant-by-him version (Marla Maples. That's what Ivana called him: "the donald" ). Or trump to me.

I'm with Cher. On that, and her entire post featured here.

No kidding!!!

Tells a mighty sorry tale.

Maybe Bernie just likes drilling holes in the nice sturdy lifeboat

because it wasn’t painted his favorite color.

That ASSHOLE!

Since we moved to Oregon, I have participated in numerous protests and big marches downtown.

You know who goes to those?

Moms. Dads. Young couples. Groups of friends - of all genders. Grandmas. And some grandpas. Young parents with kids, and babies in "papoose" harnesses. Often with their pet dogs along, on proper leashes and often with some sort of fashion accessory or "coat". Students. Teenagers. Middle-agers and baby boomers. And all colors, mostly white, but there still is some variety.

I've never seen an Antifa anybody, EVER. Anywhere. At ANY such gathering large or small. And EVERY BIT OF IT, EACH ONE, EACH TIME was PEACEFUL. Period. Full stop.

Your last paragraph says it ALL.

Just take a wild guess...

194,323 times. As of just before 2pm, Pacific time.

Update -

At 7:05am - domestic data only
Confirmed cases US - 6,473,290
Deaths US - 193,963

At 1:51pm

* Yep, that one changed first. Now WELL OVER 194-thousand American deaths.
