About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

Hey nolabear, MANY MANY virtual hugs.

As of Monday, September 14th, husband and I have been self-sequestered for 190 days. We are VERY housebound.

I've gotten more deeply into gardening, so that helps. And a lot of online and Zoom stuff with my local Indivisible group.

I want to go work on the hillside tomorrow but husband doesn't approve, what with all the smoke here, too (Oregon).

Just trying to keep busy. Lots of writing, and, gotta say, nolabear, THIS PLACE RIGHT HERE, especially, is keeping me sane.

Have you considered a Zoom meeting with your writer friends? That's the only way I go to meetings anymore. The fires preempted our Call to Action email work this weekend as people need to focus on packing and being on standby to evacuate. Otherwise that's how we meet to plot out the next week's "asks". And it means you need not feel so isolated. Writing might really help. You could keep a log. You could go nerd and start keeping track of various kinds of minutae. Or, maybe there's an Indivisible group near you that you can join. If so I know they could use your help! I swear, if it weren't for our various Indivisible activities that are still going on, I wouldn't be able to keep track of days of the week. And it can really help make you feel productive.

MORE virtual hugs!

HEY GUYS - I think I just had a phishing encounter.

If suddenly you find you're logged out, BEWARE democraticunderground.net

Don't engage! You're probably still logged in on democraticunderground.com

And change your password.

COOL!

Anything that's bad for the donald is ultimately good for the rest of us.

That's what boggles my mind.

I see those polls where he's ahead in Florida and it's probably got a lot to do with Latino support. And I keep asking - where were they when the immigration crisis boiled over at the border, and toddlers were being taken from their mothers and/or fathers and warehoused in fucking CAGES??? And then scattered all over the US where they can probably never be found, leaving their parents desperate and heartsick?

And these Latinos are supporting tRUMP???? W. T. F. ? ? ?

Yep. Agreed. That's why I do it that way, too.

Always lower case. Unless it's a title or something that can't be helped.

Breathtaking! Absolutely mesmerizing!

Beautiful creatures. Magnificent!

What a fabulous find, mysteryowl! Just WONDERFUL!

Thank you!

Welcome to DU, Tall Poppy!

I used to. Even had bumper stickers visible in my car's rear window. And I got my tires slashed one night. And worse - it was a night when my then-teenage daughter with a new driver's license borrowed my car. It was during bush/cheney.

I did put a yard sign out this year though. Our neighborhood is full of signs that either say some version of Biden-Yes or some version of trump-No.

Welcome to DU, DemUnleashed!

It's hard to understand why any spectators would boo.

I know some have. And I do not understand why.

Hey, Hugin - I appreciate the backstopping.

When we do our Indivisible group's Call to Action email every weekend, I thank the heavens for the two women who serve as our editors! Man do they save us!

It's ALWAYS good to have an extra set of eyeballs on the work.
