I always book an aisle seat. Period. Grandma's getting old.

I would rather not have to fold up like an origami exercise after all these years. My old knees appreciate the extra room that an aisle seat offers plus the ability, at least partially, to stretch my legs all the way forward.

I’m sorry, but I won’t give that up. Maybe if my joints and I were younger I’d feel differently. But by now, at my age, it’s my physical necessity OVER somebody else’s mere convenience.

AND why does she bring this up NOW?

On what may be the eve of a Biden announcement, when she’s a well-documented Bernie supporter (and, apparently, Bernie insider, as I’ve read).

And not only that but she then eagerly adds that she doesn’t see this as any sort of sexual assault.

So why is she bringing this up? And bringing this up at THIS particular time?

I tell ya, something smells pretty doggone fishy...

Yeah. We're noticing.

And about that "America's heartland" thing...

Um - it WASN’T on the coasts (read West Coast and specifically the Northeast - NOT the entire Atlantic coast) that The Asset found his voter base. He’s in Hillary’s office right now because of, and thanks in a large part to, voters in that so-called “heartland.” Which by now I’ve come to regard as quite the misnomer.

Yeah, no kidding. Those WERE the days that really made America great

Aspirational.

I’ve heard that word a lot lately, as a few of the candidates have put it into the political lexicon. Beto’s one, for example. Describing how it’s time for a national reinvigoration. Hope. A new day where we get back in touch with what America is supposed to stand for - in our hearts and in the world. A better future where we stop all this shit and get rid of all this shit and fix all this shit. When this living nightmare is finally OVER.

I keep telling myself that nothing lasts forever, and neither will this grim, shameful time. This too shall pass. Because that’s what all things do.

Good points here.

Me too. Gotta say, the purported "coastal elites" running the country?

Um - California didn’t go for trump. As far as I can remember, the much unfairly-maligned “left coast” wanted nothing to do with trump/pence, and voted accordingly. Maybe the so-called “coastal elites” being referred to here mean the east coast. That’s where trump Tower is, after all - in New York City (even though New York went for Hillary), and Mar-a-Lago is in Florida - ALSO on the east coast.

Sorry. I was a Californian for 55 years. Now I’m an Oregonian. Still a “left-coaster” and still proud of it. And I can get my dander up pretty fast when it sounds as though California is being maligned. And it seems to me California is always the implicit target of those who diss the “left coast”. Seems to me few people bother to think of Oregon or Washington state in that equation.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
