But denial can run awfully deep.

“Ain’t just a river in Egypt” as the ol’ cliche says.

Yep. Eyes and ears wide open, people. Blinders OFF.

You need your peripheral vision for this one, and all antennae and other sensors up, full.

The bad guys are smart. But we have it in us to outsmart them. Just be aware, and for Pete’s sake, don’t doze off because the coast might appear clear.

But... but... but... don't you understand?

We simply must die on the hill of The Perfect when we could have chosen the hill of The Merely Good and gotten all the way to the win.

Good point. I wonder how many women didn't or wouldn't vote for Hillary

because whatever-the-fuck, and now wish to God we could have a do-over.

They don't call this man a Pulitzer Prize-winner for nothing.

I love Eugene Robinson’s work! Every time I’ve finished a tasty piece he’s written and wonder how he could top it, sure enough he comes up with another one that does.

It does make one wonder. Especially considering

the kinds of stealth manipulations that abounded last time. Here, too.

But I’ve gotta admit - the reaction to it here now is encouraging to see. Looks like many of us have our antennae up and our awareness sharpened, about this little detail in particular. Very small, minute, and easily buried. Kind of a stealth thing under the “I’m concerned that...” cover. Good to see people noticed it - and get what the attempted manipulation is.

I’m SERIOUSLY gratified to see that so many of us here are wise to that little tactic. It’s a very small detail, but it’s often a GREAT BIG “tell”.

Many are fooled by this effort to sow disruption and discord among Democrats.

But not here.

LOL!!!

Somewhere Upstairs, John McCain probably isn’t laughing.

Yep. GREAT cartoon!

Hey Middle America, still glad you voted for him?

YOU voted for him.

YOU voted for this.

YOU voted for this very thing. Without even giving it a second thought.

As the old republi-CON convention slogan said: “You Built It.” And YOU sure did. This wound is self-inflicted.

And this one’s on YOU. Nobody held a gun to your head and forced you to vote for him. We warned and warned and warned. Showed you facts and figures and track records galore. YOU CHOSE to believe in this CONman and his lies and sales pitches and slick talk and empty pie-in-the-sky promises and reassurances. You got taken. You got rolled. You got CONNED, bigtime. You’ve been royally HAD.

Bigly.

Gonna fall for it all again next year?

Awww... cats are WUNNNNNNNNderful!

I highly recommend adopting litter mates if possible. Best. Idea. EVER. As far as animal- related issues, anyway. We adopted brother and sister who were cuddled up together in a pen with about a dozen kittens all wandering around, sniffing the scents and exploring the area. The attendant picked one of them up to hand to us to look at. At that moment the thought occurred to me - awwwwwww I feel bad about separating them! Suddenly the one we didn’t pick up looked so lost and alone on the floor of the pen. We had been wanting one new kitty. But we didn’t have the heart to separate these two forever.

So we took them both. NEVER regretted it! BEST thing EVER, pet-wise. We’ve had dogs and lots of cats. But we never tried two at a time til then. It’s been the gift that keeps on giving for - what - eleven years by now? They still cuddle together, play together, sleep together, argue with each other, groom each other, and keep each other company. The settling-in period was almost nonexistent. They adapted quickly and very smoothly. It’s really been way nderful!

And we’re totally sold! It’ll be the “Noah’s Arc” thing from here on. Whenever it comes time to get a new kitty, we’ll take two!

HIGHLY recommended!

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
