That California touch is REALLY nice!

I think we ALL needed that pleasant, entertaining, and genuinely happy diversion - from these grim times holding us hostage. It was a real joy watching all those hours of live television - and not a SINGLE mention of donald trump. Can you say "RELIEF!!!!" Not ONE WORD! He probably hated it, especially having not been invited. And that just makes it all the better.

Welcome to DU, CharleyDog!

Not sure what that means. The Middletons got a coat-of-arms, too, for their Duchess Kate. It has acorns on it, reflecting the oak trees on the Middletons' estate. Her parents gave her a wedding gift of earrings with acorns suspended from little oak leaves and studded with little diamonds, reflecting the family's new coat-of-arms. Kinda sweet, I thought. But then again, the whole British royalty thing fascinates me (as do the fascinators!).

How could he? Doubt he's ever been exposed to it.

Is that the look of "whaddya mean my number's up"?

Welcome to DU, Jimvanhise!

Thank goodness they nabbed him before he could disappear overseas.

Sucks to be him (one would hope, anyway!). There IS some justice out there.

Well, then, it's already warmed up! I say we grab it

and make it OURS. And use it like there’s no tomorrow!

Some assholes STILL want to hang it on Hillary.

At this point, I find myself wondering - what on earth will those pathetic idiots do - after Hillary Clinton is gone? She, too, will pass at some time in the future. What will they do without her when she’s no longer around to serve as their go-to punching bag? I bet that will be a dark day for those fiends! I can just hear the little voices in their little heads wailing “WAAAAAAAAAAAH! No Fair! We don’t have Hillary to kick around anymore!!1!1111!!”

I wouldn’t be surprised, though, if they kept at it anyway. If for no other reason, out of sheer reflex. I also suspect that some shrieking know-nothing like Alex Jones starts pushing the “conspiracy theory” that she’s not really dead. She faked her own death to try to force us off her trail! They’ll try to make her into a “new Elvis” or something.

Then again, I’d expect that the hatred in some of these deluded, misinformed/uninformed jerks is so intense that they’d damn near try to dig her body up and drag it through the mud, to sooth their upset over not being able to do it while she was still alive. That’s how irrationally and virulently some of them hate her. They’ve dined out on that hatred and made names for themselves and big bucks (lookin’ at YOU, Drudge. And YOU, limbaugh!) for so many years that it will have become almost an automatic reflex by then, to keep on doing so yet again.

You heard it here first.

No kidding. It no longer seems far-fetched.

Thanks, Deceitful Donald.

Yes. He's so big on this branding stuff. Let's brand HIM now.

President Trump has many limitations, to put it mildly, but he is brilliant at the dark art of branding. Those seeking to hold him accountable had better study his technique — and learn to fight fire with fire.

Witness how Trump is trying to use the word “spy” as a weapon against the FBI, the Justice Department and special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation of Russian interference in the election. The president’s performance this week has been totally dishonest — and, let’s be honest, quite effective.

THAT is what to call it, AND how to brand it.

Let’s fight branding with branding. OUR branding.

WE should decide what to call this. I’m not gonna use his words. That just reinforces them and helps them sink in.

And “LIE-gate” is SO much more accurate and appropriate.

My only question would be - how to write it. For maximum clarity and impact.

“Liegate”?

“LIEgate”?

“LIE-gate?”

Which works best? “Liegate” seems to me to be the least effective, visually, because it doesn’t direct you to the point - which is the “LIE” part.

So I’d go with one of the other two. The “LIE” part is what’s most important, and what deserves the greatest emphasis. Seems to me, just regarding marketing and mending and branding, if you want to open their eyes, maybe you gotta punch ‘em in the nose (FIGURATIVELY speaking, of course).

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
