calimary's JournalAmen! YOU Built This. YOUR SIDE birthed and midwifed this.
This is all on YOUR tab and on YOUR ledger.
As for that-guy-whose-name-rhymes-with-Vanity, he once hyped himself as "the most talked-about talk show host in college radio."
Indeed? Well, I spent FOUR YEARS in college radio - actually more than that because after I graduated, I kept up my involvement with my college station, including on the air. I was fairly well wired-in on the radio biz all over the country, including the college radio scene, for a long time. All formats. And I never heard of the guy.
My single-word answer would be "STUPID."
Followed by "GULLIBLE." And after that, "NAIVE." And throw in one more: "MEAN-SPIRITED."
They buried the lead.
Or lede, as others I knew in the biz also spell it.
The money shot is seven paragraphs from the bottom.
"FBI investigators are examining whether Russians suggested to Kushner or other Trump aides that relaxing economic sanctions would allow Russian banks to offer financing to people with ties to Trump, said the current U.S. law enforcement official."
Add that in with
1) the reports and quotes from both Eric and Donnie Jr. about the family seeing a lot of business action and money galore from the Russians,
2) their father's many bankruptcies that have made US banks stop lending him money, compelling him to turn to Russian (and Russian mob) funding,
3) his continuing to live the high life of an international high-roller and therefore needing tons of cash,
4) his refusal to release his tax returns,
5) additional reports that Jared himself and his family are hundreds of millions of dollars in debt (and they too are used to living the high life),
6) and Jared's attempts to set up that secret back-channel reportedly included meetings with a Russian bank that had sanctions clamped on it,
(among other things)
...well, one can do the math and connect the dots.
Smells kinda smoking-gun-ish to me.
Not nearly as many as we need.
However, by late last year you NEVER would have seen or read anything like this, at all, from the other tribe.
We are starting to see these opinions popping up now, though. It's a beginning.
I'm trying to figure out what the three gold-tone squiggles are, in that shield.
Tangled stirrups? Gold-plated pretzels?
Kellyanne's gold-painted forked tongue?
Thank you, my dear Peggy!
It felt mighty good to this gun-resister. I've often marveled at the irony - that BOTH of 'em served during WW2, active service and NOT safe desk jobs back on the home front, and yet neither one did any killing. How 'bout that.
My father stunned me one random day
With a random remark. Stunning in a good way.
He didn't go deep, like that, very often. He said what he was most proud about, regarding his service during WW2, was that "I never raised a gun against my fellow man." He was in the Air Force and flew photo-recon.
I thought about that for a long time. And then it occurred to me that the same went for my father-in-law. He was an Army doctor working in a MASH unit in Australia. He, too, never raised a gun against his fellow man. But he sure patched up a lot of those who'd faced gunfire.
I found that to be rather remarkable. Proud of them both today.
