calimary's JournalPerfect!!!
That's one helluva metaphor!
They'll find themselves thoroughly burned, and face down on the ground, when their embers of ardor die down.
Oh reality, thy name is Flame-out.
Now THAT'S something I could definitely get behind.
I was thinking Schiff would be a good candidate to replace Dianne Feinstein if she decides she doesn't want another term.
But he's REALLY outdone himself, proven himself an extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, and sympathetic political character. He's played it SO clean. REALLY proud of him! He's built his public profile so well! Done a FABULOUS job for us Democrats! And he's young enough still to have lots of tread left on his tires. He's a gift that can keep on giving.
Bench strength! Because we HAVE TO look ahead to 2020 as well as to 2018.
MAN would I love to see him, OR Franken, in the White House. OMG!!!! That would be so much fun!!!
BINGO.
That's exactly it. If he wants to be "king," he should have stayed in the private sector.
More like The Fart of the Deal. Because it stinks to high Heaven.
EVERYTHING about this asshole stinks. That's because he's an asshole of the first order.
Don't count those chickens before they hatch.
I hope to God this is how it works out.
But we can't be complacent and assume we've got this. Besides, as we've now heard, the Russians aren't NEAR finished fucking with us.
Sheesh - good one.
None of this is beyond the realm of possibility. Not with this bunch.
I'd bet on that, too. I'd expect him to be the first one to sing like a nightingale.
Hmmm... just occurred to me: nightingale? Or canary in a coal mine?
Got it.
They do check. If you've got an aging parent, or a kid away in school, or siblings and/or other relatives, or close friends in the district in question, seems to me you have a "once-removed right" to call in, there, too. I pointed that out at a HUDDLE I attended after the LA Women's March.
One woman I met there said her dad lived in a different district.
"You go visit him, don't you?"
"Yes I do. Of course!"
"When you go visit him, you probably stay with him, right? Or in a nearby motel maybe?"
"Yeah, with him."
"Well, seems to me, because of him, YOU HAVE A PERSONAL INTEREST in that district and what goes on there. When you're there visiting him, seems to me you DEFINITELY do."
And that entitles YOU to call in to whoever represents that district, too. If you have a personal interest there, you have a business there or you work for a business that has offices there, seems to me YOU ARE AFFECTED BY WHAT GOES ON THERE. And you have a RIGHT to weigh in.
So know their zip codes, too. For example, if you call in to your dad's Congressmember, give the staffer for that Congressmember your dad's zip code. And so forth.
I don't find him okay. I've been watching. And I find him quite arrogant and pompous.
Maybe that's why they say he's so much like Scalia.
I find him off-putting.
But that's just me.
Why I would not support him has a LOT more to do with the fact that he should not even be in this position now. He's been nominated by a Vladimir Putin puppet, who was installed in OUR White House by a HOSTILE FOREIGN POWER.
As such, donald trump has NO business being there, in OUR White House and in OUR Oval Office.
He has no business nominating anybody to anything.
He has no business signing any fancy pieces of paper.
He has no business addressing Congress or the American People or anybody from that lectern.
He has no business striding across OUR White House lawn to climb aboard Marine One.
He has no business riding Marine One to Andrews to climb aboard Air Force One.
He has no business stopping to salute that honor guard that stands alert and whose job it is to protect him.
And I could go on.
AND THEN... there's that OTHER matter of the FBI investigation that he is now under.
I'm not a lawyer but, when Comey announced the investigations, adding that one of the things they were investigating was whether a crime had been committed - does that mean it's a criminal investigation?
