Welcome to DU, thbobby!

These are giving me hope! It's nice to see pushback. It's what we need!

Congratulations! Milestone!

I had some down time during the election, too. It's nice to be back.

Before that, when I was in elementary school, we had smog alerts here in L.A.

The South Coast Air Quality Management District issued multiple first-stage smog alerts that ordered the sick and elderly and young kids to stay indoors. We couldn't go outside for recess.

And to drive from the Westside through the Sepulveda Pass to the San Fernando Valley? You couldn't even see the valley until you'd cleared the crest of the hill and were heading down into it! We had to have a rain storm that washed all the ick from the air for you even to see that - "hey! There actually IS a valley down there!" And forget the foothills and mountains beyond the valley on the other side. You wouldn't even know they were there! It was too smoggy even to see them, unless you drove all the way across the valley to the other side in which you were almost literally on top of them.

Issa's scared now!

He thinks after years of being a pompous partisan bully that a single statement on Bill Maher's show, wherein he favored an independent prosecutor, will wipe all that out.

Last November he just barely held onto his seat. Which was news, in and of itself. This time he looks to be ripe for the ousting. And WHEN, not if, that occurs, I will celebrate!

As opposed to the way the teabaggers behaved toward Democrats.

When the teabaggers yelled and screamed and heckled, well, THAT was okay.

Hmmm... sorry it got removed.

Let's just say some of his quite-obvious preferences grew tiresome. Particularly when one does not share those same preferences.

Not trying to stir things up here, 'eh? We all need to stop bickering and unite behind our leadership team!

What I CAN say about the Ellison vs Perez debates here is - the BEST PART OF THEM ALL was seeing Donna Brazile pass the gavel! I am OVER-THE-MOON delighted about that. That alone will help our party! That alone is worth celebrating!

Donna Brazile always seems to make it a point to take a feather duster to a gunfight. Because she forgot her wet noodle collection at home that day. I'm convinced that part of the reason Al Gore didn't do better was because she was his campaign manager. She is NO fighter. She's one of those flaccid milquetoast "oh... okay..." Democrats. DISMAL!

Donna Brazile fires people up the way sitting inside the freezer section of the grocery store would do.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
