Do NOT Mess with the Lady Parts of ANY Woman! Texas or ANYWHERE Else!

But yes, we'll focus on Texas for awhile, hopefully to drag them kicking and screaming out of the Bronze Age. Hopefully the correct choice in Virginia means THAT disgusting trend has been stopped, at least as long as we can keep DEMS in the command-and-control positions.

'Fraid I've gotta go fairly militant about this one. A woman's right to have THE LAST WORD on what happens to HER body - is an ABSOLUTE. Pure 'n' simple. I'm afraid this one is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

Hawaiianlight is correct! I love that quote of yours!

"If certain people in our government, involved with 9/11, were infected with the Pinocchio syndrome, they'd be able to sword fight each other from both coasts."

BRILLIANT!!! That's how I remember it, too, especially with all the reading I did, and how much I saw here. Just why haven't we ever tried to drill down into that little 15-of-the-19-hijackers-were-Saudi factoid? I remember hearing and seeing reports about how they were warned beforehand, before they even got to the White House. The Clinton people tipped them off, on the way out, that terrorism was going to be their biggest problem, and they had all kinds of indications that would move even a moron to order higher security at airports and maybe also at highrise buildings or something. Something. ANYthing forcryingoutloud! The morons, however, were IN the White House and the Vice President's office and on from there, down the stovepipe. Instead we had a so-called "president" who told a CIA messenger "okay, you've covered your ass now," when the CIA guy tried to bring him another warning. And we had a so-called "vice president" placed in charge of a White House terrorist task force - and do you know when they finally got around to meeting? September 10th 2001. Instead the so-called "vice president" had been too busy behind closed doors with his oil industry buddies, carving up a map of Iraq.

Welcome to DU, Hawaiianlight!

Glad you're here! Yeah, I love that quote, too! Exquisite! And powerfully true. Gives you a good mental picture to go along with the outrage it illustrates. Definitely going into my quotes file. Excellent, RC, for coming up with it!

YES INDEED.

Indeed. I think it's about time we started acting like it.

Welcome to DU, Treant!

Glad you're here!

Curious to see all the snarky comments at the end of this story.

"WOW! And if we leave right away in a ship going 67 million miles per hour, we'll be there in a short 25,000 years! Why do they continue to report this crap?"

Sheesh - can't they let their imagination run with even just the idea?

Aw, Damn. I'm so sorry to hear this, Oilwellian. Damn.

Only 29. Damn.

My immediate thought, as a mom, was: "died in his sleep - very peaceful, non-cataclysmic way to go. Hopefully painless and quick." One never wants to see one's children suffering or in pain.

Damn.

Thinking about you this day, Oilwellian. I'm glad you posted about this. I will NEVER forget how much it meant to me when I posted that little note here the night my mom died. The outpouring was just almost overwhelming. It was SO comforting. And in that case, she was 90, she'd had this amazing life, she was in agonizingly declining health, and we all knew it was coming. Didn't make it much easier, though. I will never forget how kind and supportive and sympathetic (and empathetic) people here were. It DID help. DU can be infuriating sometimes, but it will also buoy you up when you need it most. I think it was Skittles who said "somebody's always here." I just love that! It's so true. Somebody always is. And always with big strong shoulders to lean on during a tough time, and ready to hear you out and share the burden - and just be there, and just listen. It helps a LOT to know you don't mourn alone.

Welcome to DU, maced666!

Glad you're here! That was pretty doggone great of you! That woman probably gets paid shit-wages. Just the littlest thing can make a big difference.

Yeah. Freeways were a mess, too. Earlier in the day than usual.

The Christmas lights and Hannukah decorations are popping up everywhere, and traffic is stupid-crazy. 'Tis the season...

There are times here when you just are better off NOT going out. Until traffic dies down. Or unless you can walk to where you need to go. I wouldn't even take a bicycle with the way some people drive out here!

Yesterday was busy too! One of the guys at the store was out in the parking lot directing traffic. It usually gets pretty bad leading up to a holiday.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
