Magnificent!!!!

As usual, Michael Moore hits one outta the ballpark!

YES. The short-attention-span electorate needs this reminder, over and over and over and over...

"... you know, to kinda catapult the propaganda."

He's no newly-awakened savior of the poor. It's the same old mitt. Just trying to talk a better game now that the playing field has a few more Elizabeth Warren footprints on it.

Yes indeed. It gives her an even bigger megaphone and platform from which to shout

into that bigger megaphone. It gives her added credibility and clout. I would LOVE to see her as Senate Majority Leader or Majority Whip. Positions of REAL clout. Seems as though she's on her way there.

Interesting to see this evolution because it also is an outward sign that the Senate Dems (and others in the hierarchy on our side) are hearing those of us out here in the trenches. They're acknowledging this expanding movement, by elevating one of our movement leaders and heroes to positions where they can actually make bigger noise about these issues. It's a recognition of US - those of us pushing her name for President and calling ourselves members of the "Elizabeth Warren wing of the Democratic Party." And other such stuff. It's a good sign. They're FINALLY hearing us and FINALLY acknowledging the new reality - that those of us fans of Elizabeth Warren, who are making it VERY clear that she speaks for US - have been pushing. At long last, amazingly enough, they are responding - and responding positively!

And while I'm not directly one of those who wants her to run instead of Hillary, I still support everything Elizabeth Warren is doing, and saying, and advocating. It tells me HER views and HER messages on these issues are not only being heard, they're being taken more seriously. They're hearing us and responding positively and strategically. HER positions are starting to grow legs and gain traction. And it's a VERY wonderful thing that the powers that be on our side of the aisle have not ignored this. I think they're recognizing a changing political landscape and attempting to work WITH it, if not embrace it wholeheartedly (yet). But it sounds, to me, as though that, too, is coming. They can read the writing on the wall. And they're starting to get behind what that writing is demanding. They're not laughing or ignoring or paying mere lip-service to it anymore.

And THAT, in turn, tells me that OUR take on these issues is no longer being locked out. It's OUR take on these issues that's gaining ground, momentum, attention, and more legitimacy. It tells me that OUR take on these issues just might TAKE OVER.

True enough. Remember when the dick (cheney) openly scoffed at the whole idea of empathy?

OPENLY. In public. On the "Meet the Press" shows and other public speaking opportunities and react opportunities the media always gave him. LAUGHED at it. It was "weakness" in his eyes. Empathy is something you LAUGH at. Then romney and others of his ilk come along behind that and reinforce it by denouncing and sneering at all those of our fellow citizens who just want "free stuff." "Free stuff"???? Helping you be able to afford to PAY FOR health insurance, at long last? Helping you to be able to afford to PAY FOR food with that paltry amount of food stamps you're allotted? So your children don't fucking STARVE? That's just been reduced to "free stuff"???? Spoken by too many of those who live so comfortably and have so much and have so much power and influence that they'll never know or understand what it's like to live as the poor and the working poor are forced to do?

And worse, those who add religion into this, in a hideous way to "explain" this part of the human condition. It's the whole "religious" application of "I am blessed by God because I'm RICH. That PROVES I have God's favor! So by that logic, those poor people over there have somehow fallen from God's favor. We all know (wink wink) that this "proves" they're among the damned." That then makes it easy to rationalize that compassion is a fool's errand because these people are lazy moochers who deserve what's happening to them, and literally, that makes them not blessed by God, and not worthy of empathy or compassion. It's their own damn fault." People using various definitions and concepts of "God" to justify being cold-hearted and just damned fucking CRUEL.

No wonder too much of America hasn't just lost its collective mind or heart - it's lost its collective soul.

So sorry to hear this.

There are feral cats in our neighborhood - or there were. One by one we've noticed they're not around anymore. Neighbors give up on 'em because they want to stay outside and won't come back in, so they become "outdoor cats." And we live in a canyon area with lots of coyotes and ring-tailed hawks. It's really sad. Month after month, there are handmade signs posted on the light poles and telephone poles - "MISSING" - either cat or small dog. It breaks my heart.

I kept hoping I could catch that one kitty, Butterscotch, and bring her inside, so she might have a chance to avoid being dinner for the coyotes we hear sometimes at night, howling in the not-too-distant distance, but when I tried, she bit me hard. and I had to let go. That was awhile ago. Every now and then she'd pop up in the yard and eat the kibble I set out for her but she never came close. And now we don't see her anymore. In our neighborhood, it's a pretty safe bet what happened to her.

Good point.

Remember when cheney in all smugness declared "the adults are back in charge" - after his little dog dubya stole the election in 2000?

Well, he couldn't have been more wrong, inside-out, upside-down, and backwards. The GOP is the party of infants. Unruly, spoiled, entitled, tantrum-throwing infants, and damned poor sports. YES the CONS do hit below the belt. As often as possible. Maybe because, as people, they are VERY small. And very puny.

Dems always seem to be more adult.

Kicking this, too.

Wonder if her family pig farm enjoyed pigging out at the farm subsidy trough?

Welcome to DU, DrBulldog!

Glad you're here! This is most interesting. I'm actually surprised the vote was as lopsided as it was. I thought the knuckle-draggers and other members of the Heads-in-the-Sand Gang would have dared to show more strength.

Retired newsie here. First thing I thought of

and felt was sheer outrage. "You useless idiot schmuck! You RUINED the fucking soundbite!!!!!"

That was THE soundbite of the new century. America's first black president getting sworn in and Roberts FUCKED It Up!!!!! For all time!

NEVER gonna let anyone forget that as long as I live.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
