Election analyst says Sanders could have more staying power than Biden in 2020

4/5/2019

Election analyst Kyle Kondik told Hill.TV's "Rising" on Friday that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will likely have more staying power in the 2020 race than Joe Biden if the former vice president launches another White House bid.

"I think Sanders may have more staying power because I think at least he has an established base he can bring from 2016 that he can bring with him," he said.

"Even if his so-called floor is 20-25 percent, a lot of people were saying that about Donald Trump in 2016, too, and that floor kept going up, and no one was able to pull a lot of support from him," Kondik added said. "If Sanders is to win the nomination, maybe that's how it will work for him, too."
