When does a victims rights take precedence over a convicted terrorists right.

BS recently spoke out about a felons right to vote. Fact is , I am all for it AFTER they do their time.

Bernie Sanders and the Song of America
Unlike any other politician in modern U.S. history, Sanders has revived a language of social and democratic rights

snip

And then, at a CNN town hall in Manchester, N.H. Bernie made “the first big misstep of the 2020 Democratic primary season.” Responding to an audience question, Sanders made the statement that he supports voting rights for felons. Even the Boston Marathon bomber or sex offenders. https://www.commondreams.org/views/2019/04/25/bernie-sanders-and-song-america

Don't even get me going here. This is my Boston and domestic terrorists tried to kill and maim as many people as they could.

Tsarnaev was born in Kyrgyzstan. As a child, he emigrated with his family to Russia and then, when he was eight years old, to the United States under political asylum. The family settled in Cambridge and became U.S. permanent residents in March 2007. He became a U.S. citizen on September 11, 2012, while in college.

And once again, they fail to grasp the quality of Bernie that is at the heart of his unique appeal. Unlike any other candidate in the Democratic Primary field and any other candidate in modern American history, Sanders talks in terms of expanding the inalienable rights of every citizen.https://www.commondreams.org/views/2019/04/25/bernie-sanders-and-song-america

No. He does not. Where are the rights of the victims? The victims died, in this case, at the hands of the man that BS says the one that executed them should vote while imprisoned after taking away the life and vote of the victim. This is wrong on so many levels.

This is incredibly wrong. Fix the prison system, the courts, the profiling and the fucking cops that allow this to happen.

they should have voting rights until they've served their time.

And, if it's life.. well, they do the crime they do the time.

I really appreciate that former felons can vote.. but Not while they're being punished in prison.

Thanks, she

After they've served, yes, then they get their franchise back. But not while in prison. Funny, I always thought it WAS that, but then the Republicans began meddling.

That's why prisoners are worked as slaves in many states, and why in some states felons lose voting rights forever.

I fully supported and campaigned for FL's amendment 4 to restore voting rights to returning citizens. Now, of course, the RWNJs in the FL legislature are trying to bollix it up.

But to let Charles Manson, Tsarnaev and other terrorists, mass murderers, child molesters and rapists vote? I don't think so.

Reform the judicial system, as Kamala Harris and other Dem candidates say. But this is a bridge too far for me.

Plus, the article -

All felons should have the right to vote. Victims? Not so much. Personally I think the victims, first and foremost had the right to live.

And the article is a hoot. Common Dreams my ass.

Should be renamed as Uncommon Dreams.

is a losing position. Period, full stop.

It's a losing position for Sanders and it's a losing position for the Democratic Party at a time when we're fighting for our very survival. We have a frigging wanna-be dictator squatting in the WH. His enablers are hellbent on hollowing out the Republic, discarding the Rule of Law. And Sanders promotes voting rights for the incarcerated??

I don't know what Sanders was thinking blurting this position out. But it's beyond stupid. Positively suicidal.

Wrong place and wrong time. Guess he is trying to show support for blacks that are wrongly convicted. Perhaps he should address how they got there in the first place.

Address and change the SCHOOL-TO-PRISON PIPELINE [INFOGRAPHIC]

The ACLU is committed to challenging the "school-to-prison pipeline," a disturbing national trend wherein children are funneled out of public schools and into the juvenile and criminal justice systems. Many of these children have learning disabilities or histories of poverty, abuse or neglect, and would benefit from additional educational and counseling services. Instead, they are isolated, punished and pushed out.

"Zero-tolerance" policies criminalize minor infractions of school rules, while cops in school lead to students being criminalized for behavior that should be handled inside the school. Students of color are especially vulnerable to push-out trends and the discriminatory application of discipline.

that whatever state he is in, he's going to be asked if he supports voting rights for that particular state's worst/infamous incarcerated criminals (by name)?

And then he'll probably say, "yes" on camera... Someone can then splice together a clip of him voicing support for any numerous criminals. It will be anathema to the larger voting public.
