Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumWho will NOT support Joe Biden if he is the Democratic nominee?
In my opinion, Biden is the clear favorite at this moment. He has a loyal base, many who were Hillary supporters in 2016. I don't see any candidate in the mix at the moment that can compete with him. Are we ready to support Biden if he is the people's choice?
NOTE:
This is a counter to a similar thread post in regard to Bernie Sanders earlier:

(7,596 posts)I definitely don't expect him to remain the frontrunner. He's proven himself to be awful at running presidential campaigns and there are more appealing candidates running than him with far more progressive records.

Will volunteer phone bank for him.
will donate to him.
If by some magical chance Texas is even close to being into play for him, will canvass like a mad person for him.

(11,686 posts)they woul be idiots to not vote for him if he is our choice after the primaries.
I apologize to those who will not vote for him if he is our final choice but that is how I feel and believe.
Even if I do not like our final choice I will still vote for them. I would be stupid myself to not vote for them.

(92,256 posts)with the exact same wording in that OP, changing the name of Sanders for Biden
https://www.democraticunderground.com/128773085
I happen to agree that these type of OPs are divisionary, and serve no useful purpose, but since there seems to be no problem when asked about Bernie Sanders, I thought in the interest of fair play what is good for the goose is good for the gander

(23,423 posts)I do think its true that there are posters here who wouldnt vote for the Democratic nominee, no matter who that nominee is. I find that unsurprising- its a message board with many posters. I dont know that emphasizing that fact is so great. Im hopeful that a shared unity can be defeating Trump.

(92,256 posts)and perhaps, are you suggesting that within the group of Democratic or potential Democratic candidates, there are some you would not vote for if they got the nomination?

(4,558 posts)These are gotcha questions.. Only 1 answer is acceptable on this website. Anyone answering the other way is posting against TOS.
For example, if I was to post something along the lines that I felt Bernie Sanders shares a number of qualities with Trump, and/or went into details.. bam.. attacking a Democrat.
On the OP, anyone who would not be willing to support VP Biden were he the nominee, Bam - not supporting Democrats.
Its kind of like taking a poll where only 1 answer is accepted.

(92,256 posts)context of current Democratic or potential Democratic candidates, and that context was made clear within the posts. So I have to wonder if there are other motivations from that poster.
As for the OP, it was a facetious OP to counter a previous OP where Sanders was the focus.
Interestingly, the author of that OP choose NOT to respond to this OP, though he is requesting others to respond to his or her OP

In general I do not disagree with anything you say, though it is a fallacy to say that someone that points out ANY candidate who agrees with trump on some issues is "attacking a Democrats". That simply is not valid. Case in point,
"withdrawal of troops from Libya". There will be Democrats who agree and those who disagree on that issue.

Since the Dems can nominate anybody at convention, if they totally loose it and nominate the orange menace I won't vote for it just because he is approved by the party.
Any of the leading primary candidates now are acceptable and I would happy to vote for the winner in the General. The OP is crazy, so why not be more crazy.

The person that Trump cant figure out is Joe Biden. Trump has tried the Sleepy Joe attack but has flopped. Trump has now moved on to trying to attack Bidens populism by coining him 1% Joe. This also wont work, especially coming from Donald Trump. Trump fears Bidens populism and former vice presidents appeal in Rust Belt states.
Biden scares Trump, and that fear is never more obvious than when Trump starts talking about his potential opponents in 2020.

(804 posts)Joe Biden happens to be my choice right now because I think he has the greatest chance of kicking the Orange Buffoon out of the White House, but I am fully committed to vote for whoever wins the nomination. My priority is to defeat the con man in November 2020.

(9,497 posts)about where Joe is on policies and platforms contrasting from the pack instead of the main posts that just claim he is the only one to win against Trump. Which I don't believe as there are some great candidates who, if they rise to the top, have just as good a chance. I know we need to all get on the train, but I would like to know more than if it would just leave the station. Like what the amenities are on it, how many stops and where the final destination is.

David Sirota, Nina Turner, and Briahna Joy Gray
As far as I am concerned, they contributed to putting trump into the WH
Of course that wasn't the question, it was a reproduction of this OP which used Sanders as the focus:

and was talking about the GENERAL ELECTION, NOT THE PRIMARY
