Beto O'Rourke at SC African American History Memorial w/Min. Ldr. Rutherford(video)

This is an incredible video from facebook. I love the way Beto takes the time to listen and learn everywhere he goes.

I love these local conversations he is having with people in the areas he visits. He genuinely cares and is so open and eager to listen and learn.

I love history too and I didn't even know about that monument before. Now I do, which is awesome.

He is so open, intellectually curious, listens and what he doesn't fully understand he wants to learn about so he can understand. He doesn't shy away from talking about race in a meaningful and relevant way. That's necessary in order to improve things. You can't fix something if you try to pretend it doesn't exist. He really understands that.

This is what drew me to him as well. He's a human sponge. He doesn't talk at people; he listens. I also like that he's owned up to and learned from past mistakes. It shows a lot of character and humility.

Thank you for all the Beto threads. Have you visited his page yet? TexasTowelie is the host of the group.

There's a drop down menu with all the candidates names listed. It's a safe space for supporters to post. Here's more info on it: https://www.democraticunderground.com/10139394

lol...But Beto is in for the long haul. Peaking too early leads to the same thing that happened to Howard Dean. I'd rather Beto fly under the radar for a bit longer.

I saw his schedule. He's visiting many small areas of Iowa, South Carolina, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Virginia with small town halls and house party with local media.

I'm not committing to any candidate, but I haven't dismissed O'Rourke like a lot of people in DU have.
