And I thought, you know, my cat would make a better VP and potential POTUS than any repuke. At least my cat's idea of a productive day is hanging around somewhere near me, and occasionally jumping on the bed when I'm sleeping or reading in bed to make sure I'm still breathing. Then she goes to her perch on the bureau again once she's sure I'll be able to continue feeding her.

Beats anything Cheeto Benito is up to on any given day.

And her fur do is far better as well.

And we need a younger VP.

If she were to take the VP nom then Charlie Baker gets to appoint her replacement for most of the first session of the Senate. We can't afford that.

Otherwise, I'd have no big issue with her. I like her.

I do have a preference though (at risk of hypocrisy with reverse discrimination):
In theory, bluntly, I'd rather a Black or Latino woman because I think the combination is a better representation of the party. And I believe there are capable woman to chose from.

I would be ecstatic and I would donate, and do all I could enthusiastically to get them elected.
I was just working on forcing myself to vote for him after having spent 11 years in the Interfaith Peace Movement trying to prevent and making up for his War on Iraq debacle. A Warren VP would make all the difference for me!

his running mate while considering running after his son's death in 2015 help? According to Biden staffers of that time, they met to discuss it, but of course he ended up not running then.

will be difficult as it is to retake the Senate so potentially losing the Massachusetts seat complicates matters. Since the Governor is a Republican, and if the governor gets to appoint a replacement, Dems might lose this seat if Baker appoint a Republican to this seat. Of course, it is quite possible that I am out in left field, so take my ramblings with a huge grain of salt.

...can't the Senate Dems vote in whoever they want? Yeah, realistically, seniority matters, but that's not a legal or bylaws requirement, afaik.

That I agree with. But Warren is the second most liberal. She might have had a chance, but Schumer isn't going anywhere.

She hasn't served long enough, and she hasn't been the chair or ranking member of a major committee yet.

She needs to get into one of the leadership positions like that before she can become Majority Leader.

Maria Cantwell or even Amy Klobuchar is more likely to become a Senate Majority Leader before Warren.

I have no problem that Biden is the age that he is. He appears to be in good health. But, to not select a younger VP candidate to complete the team is not wise to me.

I like Warren a great deal. All things being equal she'd make a phenomenal VP. That said, I'd have no problem with her as Secretary of Treasury or even on SCOTUS.

and if they are, Biden is certainly going to need the support of young, progressive voters to get elected in November, so there's that to consider, too.

Biden can choose Warren as his VP, then name a black woman to the supreme court, and as AG.

Women and minorities are the base of the party, and they vote. None of them more than African-American women.

Joe promised it would be a woman, so that won't happen. How Ironic that Yang's idea of $1,000 a month was thought to be ludicrous, but will probably happen because of the virus. A lot of my friends are hoping Yang will run for Mayor of NYC, he is a resident here, would love that too!

I'd be happy with his choice but, while I don't think he could do better with a candidate, won't Warren's replacement come from a Republican? If he picks Kamala (my choice) or Amy, it won't.

He needs someone to help draft sweeping new legislation and budgeting priorities. No one is better at that than Warren.

Assuming we win the White House and senate, she'll be incredibly effective in the senate.

Beyond that, worse, if she become veep, her seat will be replaced with a Republican. It would really suck if we missed winning control of the senate because of that

The VP pick should be younger just since Bidens age is going to be something that people talk about. Personally I think it should be a minority as well, especially given how much Biden owes to the black community for sticking with him and saving his campaign at just the right moment.

That said, there are plenty of reasons to go with Warren and if she were the choice I wouldn't criticize it.
