They should add a couple of those “sparkly” symbols to his eyes and teeth! It seems to symbolize that he has a very hopeful vision of America.

5. The BEST paragraph...

Sick of old people? He looks like Alex P. Keaton.

Scared of young people? He looks like Alex P. Keaton.

Religious? He’s a Christian.

Atheist? He’s not weird about it.

Wary of Washington? He’s from flyover country.

Horrified by flyover country? He has degrees from Harvard and Oxford.

Make the President Read Again? He learned Norwegian to read Erlend Loe.

Traditional? He’s married.

Woke? He’s gay.

Way behind the rest of the country on that? He’s not too gay.

Worried about socialism? He’s a technocratic capitalist.

Worried about technocratic capitalists? He’s got a whole theory about how our system of “democratic capitalism” has to be a whole lot more “democratic.”

If you squint hard enough to not see color, some people say, you can almost see Obama the inspiring professor.

Oh, and he’s the son of an immigrant, a Navy vet, speaks seven foreign languages (in addition to Norwegian, Arabic, Spanish, Maltese, Dari, French, and Italian), owns two rescue dogs, and plays the goddamn piano.

He’s actually terrifying. What mother wouldn’t love this guy?

I don’t think he would make it very far if his speech or the way he moved were not as masculine as they happen to be.

Then again, Danica Roem (transgendered) was a terrific surprise win and is representing her district very, very well - intelligent, classy, and is building accomplishments.

have to be honest here and keep it real. There are many people in the country who feel that way and here's the thing, I think even folks who may not like gay people can't help but like this guy.

Just Pete being on the scene I believe is planting seeds across the country, seeds of tolerance and acceptance and maybe some of 'those people ain't so bad' sentiments. Well that is what I hope anyway.

13. He doesn't really look like this in life - fortunately!

I was lucky enough to be at his announcement event in South Bend, Indiana yesterday afternoon, and was about 20 feet away from him as he spoke.

This picture looks unnatural, and it appears that the graphics department doctored it for effect. It almost looks like a bad wax museum product.

In this picture, he's literally "glowing." His eyes are unnaturally wide, which overemphasizes his youth. In person, he doesn't look like a teenager. On this cover, he does. It's unrealistic, and does Pete Buttigieg a disservice.

He’s got a whole theory about how our system of “democratic capitalism” has to be a whole lot more “democratic.” If you squint hard enough to not see color, some people say, you can almost see Obama the inspiring professor.

If that’s what they say, they are blind. Obama in professor mode may have been calm, gentle and instructive but their styles are very different. And Obama spoke with an authority that Pete does not have (yet).
