Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumNo way, NO WAY, can Sanders walk back his criticism of Biden
If you watched him on Chris Cuomo.
Guess we are fucked if his supporters sit out in November.
So, so sad that a "Democrat" will cause our defeat. Margins are so thin + tRussian interference.
Oh well, we lived through three and a half, we can live through 8.
(Not a lot of people other than us), nor our government as we know it, but we will survive.

(166 posts)The key to beating Trump will be a higher turnout in the black community. Despite being so closely connected to Obama and being married to Bill, we saw a huge decrease in black turnout 4 years ago, and it likely cost her the electoral college. She was shortsighted in selecting a moderate white guy from a southern state who wasnt all that exciting.
Right now, the African American community is really fired up about Biden. In a lot of ways he represents Obamas legacy they want to protect in ways that Hillary never did.
The only thing right now that could kill that momentum is The Bernie Bros sabotaging it like they did with Clinton.
Keeping the AA community engaged will be significant.

(25,485 posts)A subset of Sanders supporters were unlikely to vote for anyone other than Sanders in November regardless, simply because he's spent so much time convincing them that the Democratic Party is corrupt. The argument that many make that they'll hop on board if only we'd be nice to them is silly. Sanders bears responsibility for them staying home or whatever.
I don't think it's cause for doom and gloom. The party as a whole is more unified than it was in 2016 already, and 2018 indicated that we don't need Sanders to generate turnout. (2020 is proof, as well -- turnout is up and not for Sanders). I also think there will be much less tolerance of nonsense leading to and at the convention, so for the most part, the worst of them will be irrelevant. It's not 2016 anymore.

They wouldnt vote if sanders were the nominee anyway, theyve already shown us that. Sanders totals are down approx 17-22% over 16. So, it a moot point.
So, no I dont buy it. Please stop with the negative
Another hopeful indicator, the betting markets NEVER had sanders anywhere near winning the GE. The betting markets currently have Biden and trump 1 cent apart.,this is big. Predictit.org
