Our Conservative Media

I have read Democratic Underground for years but seldom posted. I am concerned about our media, which is almost entirely conservative. I suspect that many Democrats who watch MSNBC and CNN believe they are watching liberal/progressive media. Comcast owns MSNBC and AT&T/TimeWarner owns CNN and there is obviously nothing liberal or progressive about those companies. Yes, there are many anti-Trump commentators on MSNBC. But Comcast and AT&T/TimeWarner believe in oligarchy, not democracy. CNN and especially MSNBC are the prime Bernie Sanders bashers on TV media. I hope that those of you who watch and believe MSNBC and CNN will remind yourselves you are not watching liberal or progressive, pro-democracy media.

The Democratic Party has chosen moderate Democrats beginning in 2000: Al Gore, John Kerry, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. I believe all four of those presidential candidates won the presidency. I also believe the elections were close enough and were stolen for the Republicans except when Barack Obama won (I don’t think those elections were close enough to steal). I see Joe Biden as another moderate Democrat, but I feel he is less electable than the others. I worry about him being able to defeat Donald Trump. However, the coronavirus pandemic may change everything. I very much hope the Democratic Party nominee can defeat Donald Trump in November.

primary today, I would vote for:

So, there will not be any college students or poor people owning a media company soon - even with free tuition and debt relief.

The media except for fox are run objectively, telling both sides of the story and fact checking everything before it goes on air on in print.

Also, whats is the point of having liberal media when Bernie Sanders and/or his supporters are propagating right wing smears and smirches ad nauseum?

Now, tell me .. if Bernie can't even win the primary, how is he more likely to win the GE? That one defies logic.

Also, you only give examples of Al Gore, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton. Al Gore and Hillary WON the popular vote. Kerry lost during a war when people rally around their presidents.

At the same time, you conveniently forget the pounding received by McGovern, Mondale and Dukakis. Why is that?

that could in any way not be considered Moderates would be FDR, Truman, and Stevenson, and McGovern. Everyone else that the Democratic party has put up have been Moderates. The last time we put up a Liberal as far to the left as Bernie Sanders was George McGovern.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
