I don't think Biden or Bernie have that much to be excited about.

They are the two well known candidates, but together they aren't getting much more than 40% in the national polls. In Iowa and New Hampshire it's less then that. If someone can start coalescing the rest of the voters, they are in trouble.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Are simply waiting for him to announce. If it’s five to ten percent it will be huge.

is propelling him, I believe.

I miss Obama so much and understand why warm feelings about that time would help Biden.

He’s not one of my top choices, though.

selected Joe Biden as his VP, and people who are supporting him are doing it for more than his being President Obama's VP.

6. I agree - name recognition is driving the polls

I think waiting a few months will help to really sort things, since name recognition is obviously a huge part of the reason why Biden is on top (and not even in the running).

So much can change in the next months. The debates should help us all firm up our choices.

The GOP was in an existential crisis between pandering the Tea Party extremists and considering a new approach. The Tea Party wing wanted Sarah Palin in 2012. By 2014-15 they were settling on a much more reserved (relatively) Rand Paul. The GOP insiders were pushing Rubio, Cruz and Bobby Jindal (remember him).

Bush had the name recognition which the media went on as the presumed nominee. Bush was nothing more than a placeholder until others jumped in. Ditto with Christie. These two were never going to actually go far regardless if Trump never jumped in.

Biden is topping every poll going in a packed field full of popular democrats. And his numbers are solid all the time.

Joe is everything I want in a President.

Harris is falling in the Du polls and hardly a bump in national polls.

I find it all very exciting.

He is also a hell of an orator who connects with his audience.

Once you hear him speak, he is incredibly exciting.

with a word you said regarding his oratory skills. I was almost shocked, though, with how little traction that earned him on the night where everything went down.

He and every other candidate in that 2008 race ran into the Obama buzz saw. As an orator you’d have to go back to JFK to find someone as good.
