Are Bernie's people lying to him?

He insists that he will come out even with Biden in delegates when all of Super Tuesday is accounted for, but’s Joe’s lead continues to grow. Are they lying to him or are they just incompetent?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

If Sanders was to come out with more delegates he'd have to get 121 of the remaining 165 (72%). It ain't gonna happen.

to dupe his followers into not losing faith so that they continue to send more money. That would be the end of his campaign. Much seems to be about getting your own narrative out.
I think it's likely that the gap will decrease but it seems that it's still expected that Biden will maintain a lead.

It's why trump can't tell the truth in his mind from reality. The similarities between them is striking.

His followers are a little like that too; they have the intensity of fanatics.

Most of us agree with Bernie Sanders' issues pretty much across the board (oh, we might want a different single payer than M4A, and we might think college should be affordable, not free), but I don't think there that many policy differences.

But to the most die-hard Bernie supporters, those differences are magnified to an exponential level. They see huge swaths of daylight between the most minor policy points.

The way I see it is, where the supporters of other candidates differ is that we know how to blur the lines better. Some of the Sanders supporters - someone here labeled them as followers, not supporters, and I like that distinction - are so absolutely committed that they're left adrift if/when he doesn't get the nomination. And I feel sorry for them, I do.
