Steve Kornacki didn't do his research about Washington.

He talked about Washington having a caucus in 2016. Didn't mention that Washington also had a primary that had different results.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

It was more like a trial run, so I don't really blame him for not bringing it up.

Obama still won, but by a much lower margin, and more people participated than did in the caucus. It would have thrown a few more delegates Hillary's way. (Not to mention that the 2008 caucus was the last one I attended because it was so awful).

primaries and caucuses where there was not an incumbent President - 72, 76, 84, 88, 92, 00, 04, 08 and 16. (Most states in 1968 did not have voters directly participating I think - I know that was true in 1960).

Even if he were right, something happening 9 out of 9 times would not mean it had to happen again. In fact, in all the coverage of SC, where it was noted that Biden lost the first three contests -- no one mentioned, Clinton lost the first 4. (Iowa, NH, Maine and South Dakota) before winning one of the 7 contests on the first multistate day. Clinton had a far worse start to getting the nomination then Biden. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries (An observation - the 1992 field had some strong candidates and it looks like Clinton BLEW OUT the southern states, while the others split the vote pretty narrowly for non Southern states. In some ways, that was similar to last Tuesday. The 1992 race was not won until June -- I think this might effectively end faster.)

Does the primary vote count this time?
Is there any caucus process that determines delegates for the primary candidates?
