Michael Steele, former RNC chair, complimented the Democrats

For avoiding the 2016 Republican primaries disaster of letting an outsider winning the nomination.

You don't have to fall in love, he said, just hold hands.

A main difference, of course, is in 2016 the last two men standing were Trump and Cruz and the Republicans were split on whom they despised more. I think that there were two groups there: never Trump and never Cruz.

Even in the Senate, He Runs For the Democratic Nomination, then renounces it. If he were a true outsider, he would stop running and caucusing with Democrats. He is not an outsider. Just plays one on TV to elevate himself at the expense of the party.
