Democratic Primaries

No doubt, there is some misogyny but for Sanders to come, a day before the elections Trump-style, to MA and to MN to humiliate the two women was well, offensive as he always is.
I did not care for Warren for going after rivals that they "did not belong" in the race. But she should have at least carried her state. Klobuchar, as we now know, would have carried MN.

(8,059 posts)I'm very short, my sons are shorter than average, and that really killed any good feelings I had towards her. People cannot help their height, and it's not a flaw anyway. It was a bizarre Trumpian attack and left me wondering about her political skills.

(115,829 posts)but as attempts to put down the two female candidates. Klobuchar wasn't even competing for Sanders votes in Minnesota; people here would have voted for her anyhow regardless of whether Sanders campaigned here or not. He never would have taken votes away from her because he was going for a different voter bloc in the first place. As to Warren in MA, that was more of a competition for the so-called progressive vote; he got 26 pledged delegates vs. Warren's 17 (Biden got 34). So he went to MA to end up getting only 9 more delegates than Warren, and lost to Biden anyhow. There is an undercurrent of misogyny in Bernie's campaign and it's about time more people saw it.

(10,130 posts)It was a good campaign. Classy. Honest. Sincere. etc
Very detailed and thought out policies.
I do not think there is a better champion for the "little guy" in this party
I think she deserved better results than she got.

(12,165 posts)I was a Warren supporter and closely followed her campaign. She worked so hard and connected with so many people. Im a policy wonk and valued her carefully laid out plans.
I hope she throws her support behind Biden and then takes a well-deserved break.
There was a lot of talk yesterday about the demographic groups where Biden fell short. Whereas Warren was able to pick up some of the younger folks. What if Biden and Warren came together as a unity ticket? It would be a powerhouse. And just like Joe was able to get stuff done under Obama, imagine what Warren could accomplish as Vice President.

(47,521 posts)Klobuchar, maybe, because she and Biden were the only ones - of the final 10, I suppose - that never went after the rivals. Yes, Klobuchar made the observation that any woman with Buttigieg resume would not have arrived that far. And she claimed that Warren's freebies were (still are) a pipe dream. But never savagely went after others the way Harris and Warren and Sanders have.
