My guess is that if Warren drops out, she'll pledge to endorse and work for the nominee

Polling has shown that a minority of her supporters would go to Sanders.

She'll still be helping him a bit even if she doesn't endorse him.

But she won't be tying herself to his losing campaign in a way that might hurt her future campaigns, OR her ability to work with a future Biden administration.

I could be wrong about this, of course. Could be completely wrong.

But my best guess about what she'll do, if she doesn't take the path outlined above, is that she'll endorse Biden rather than Sanders.

And perhaps take a few weeks to do so, till after Biden has had more victories.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Endorsing Biden would destroy whatever good will she has left with many of Bernie's supporters, whose support she'll need if she ever wants to run again.

Endorsing Bernie might actually make more sense and do more good for Biden in the end if he wins the nomination, because if she endorses Bernie now she'll have more credibility to call for unity at the end, whatever happens.

them by calling for unity even if she'd previously endorsed Sanders for a few months. They tend to view everything except complete fealty to Sanders as betrayal. The #bendtheknee crowd.

She'd also risk burning some bridges with Biden and his allies, including her other former rivals, if she was drawn into campaigning for Sanders and going after Biden.

Things she's said recently indicating she'd like to be the unity candidate, the compromise between Sanders and Biden, make me think she'll try to stay neutral until the convention (unless Biden or Sanders cinches the nomination before then).

Again, I could be wrong. I'm just guessing.

She's a much better leader for the left wing of the Democratic Party than Sanders is.
