I wanted with all my heart to vote for Mayor Pete in the upcoming Georgia presidential primary; alas, that is not to be. I will, however, vote for Joe Biden with great enthusiasm because I truly believe he has the best chance to rid this nation of the cancerous tumor that is the current occupant of the office of president. I am not "against" Sanders.

and all things associated with the normal political middle in America. Biden is the man in the right place at the right time.

Voters know the dictators of the world foreign and domestic are aligned together. Such a stark contrast has not been this evident since World War II. This is almost and Axis-Allies redux. It took FDR's version of democracy and freedom to defeat them.

Sanders is suddenly perceived as an outside sideshow to that cleavage. To a plurality of voters what he says is true, and interesting, and a factor to consider to improve their working and financial lives, but it doesn't fight Trump hard enough and is not very relevant to normalcy. It is its own brand of populism with insufficient patriotism. Once socialism enters the fray, Bernie is toast as a candidate.

fight Trump's dirty tricks. You need big ideas to define the landscape and educate voters as to what's going on. We are ignorant on civics matters, we have taken democracy for granted because it provides consumerism.

Authoritarianism went underground after the two world wars, but its descendants still hope to return to power. Democracy is the never-ending foe of dictatorship. That's what's on the line in this election. Pelosi tells us "A democracy if you can keep it."

even if Biden wins the nomination, it's certainly not a given that will translate to a win over trump. But it appears that when people saw Biden finally speak from his heart, with fire, in SC, that he was the one.

It will be up to Biden now. Will he bring in the brains like Bloomberg did? The ones who knew what triggers a narcissist. The ones who created the clever funny digs?

How will he work to prevent tRussian interference? How will he reach out to Bernie and his supporters. How will Bernie help him? And very important, how will he try to combat FB smears.

All we can do is try.

Bernie supporters act like there is some grand conspiracy against him, when it is a lot simpler than that. The people who generally vote in primaries probably consider themselves part of the "Democratic establishment". Bernie rejected them. Why would anyone expect that he would get their votes?

That's one of the major reasons I voted for Hillary in 2016.

Informed Democrats, like us, understand that it would be difficult to form a cohesive and effective government with Bernie in charge. Your average Democratic voter, though, probably isn't that savvy. What they know is that their state won't vote for a socialist, and they want to win. So, they didn't vote for Bernie.

No grand conspiracy, here. I saw intelligent voting based upon the reasonable fear that the "socialist" label just wouldn't fly in the states that voted for Joe yesterday ... not even MA.

Dem nominee could win an election by promising to get rid of private healthcare. There are 8 million Union workers who have (and like) their private healthcare policies. It would be an open invitation for Trump to win in November, it is that crazy a move.

Republicans are desperate to fix the ACA, so they can put their disastrous anti-ACA behind them. There's a bi-partisan bill ready to go, but McConnell is blocking it because Trump doesn't want it.

There's also a bi-partisan bill on prescription drugs, that McConnell is blocking. You've seen over the last 5 days that Democratic voters just want Trump out, and this will seriously help turnout in November. As Rick Wilson called it correctly in his latest book, this is a referendum on Trump election, rather than a policy election. Beat Trump, with moderate Republicans and Independent, and you have a chance of taking back the Senate. Once that is done, things will change.

a reliable vp choice probably, a reasonable pendulum swing not a wild one, boxer, reid, vicky kennedy, resolution, safety and predictability, anti-bloomberg sentiment, a recognition of the importance of South Carolina's vote, unity, the everyman who doesn't demand fealty, a recognition that House actions by united dems were correct, ...and more.

I think we need to get away from the mano a mano need for simple celebrity battles that partially got us here in the first place and that didn't previously allow sane good people like Gore and Kerry and Klobuchar and others (including Biden twice before) to rise to the office.

That...and another impeachment so that Trump and foreign oligarchs can't cheat their way to another potus.
