rules. If no one wins the majority, then we go to a second ballot

No ambiguity there

8. Bernie has run an exceptional campaign and has certainly tapped into something with his supporters.

I expect that he will stand with the DNC rules that he worked so hard to help craft. Meanwhile, I am going to keep following Pete's "Rules of the Road" and wish Bernie's supporters much love.

It's hard when your candidate comes up short, especially when you've put in so much!

We're ONE party and we need every vote to elect the next Democratic President AND elect:

United States Senator Jamie Harrison - South Carolina

United States Senator Mark Kelly - Arizona

United States Senator John Hickenlooper - Colorado

United States Senator Michael T Frankin - Iowa

United States Senator Amy McGrath - Kentucky

United States Senator Sara Gideon - Maine

United States Senator Cal Cunningham - North Carolina

And many, many others...

point about it during the debate, and many of his supporters here and elsewhere were very adamant about NOT adhering to the rules, and I have no doubt if the roles were reversed, they would still be insisting that a plurality would determine the nominee in spite of the rules

My point of course is that when you agree to the rules before a process, you abide by that agreement

I wasn't trying to call you out, I'm just evolving. For me, unity is everything these days. It's what spoke to me most about Pete's campaign was his concern for governance.

betting just a week or two ago that we were almost certainly headed for a brokered convention.

I need to bone up on my convention rules but if not mistaken the 33 or so delegates won by Buttigieg & Klobuchar will be allowed to go free agent on the first ballot...so you can probably add most of those to Joe's total.

The next big date is not the next primary...it's March 6th. That's when the DNC is expected to have confirmed all of the superdelegates...who hopefully will now not be needed on a second ballot. That woulda been a potential nightmare scenario.

That is unimaginable that anyone could suggest the candidate with the most delegates doesn't get the nom.

I still think we follow the rules. I think Joe is proving he can build a winning coalition.
