I think we have to be very careful not to alienate Dem voters!

If Bernie is the candidate, he will need ALL the Dem votes in November. If Joe is the candidate, he will need ALL the Dem votes in November. Same for Elizabeth, or Mike, or whoever carries our Standard.

If we forget this, we will lose.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Well said. Trump must be defeated at all costs, and we will need to fully mobilize in November, no matter who the nominee turns out to be. Very good post.

They should show leadership on this and not stoke deep divisions.

People probably want to avoid being sore winners and alienating voters who should be natural allies. Additionally, I would hope the candidate offers an olive branch to such voters with their VP pick.

to heal the rift in the Dem party.

A Biden-Warren ticket, for example, could keep progressives enthused to walk precincts and man phone banks. Hillary's big mistake as picking a bland and boring VP that excited nobody.

It was like a middle finger to all the Bernie supporters. Warren or Sharrod Brown would have been a better pick. It drives me crazy that people think Bloomberg would be a good pick.
