Amy drops and endorses Biden.
Warren stays in to block Bernie.
They are unanimous in their hate.
Look at the replies, too, how vicious they are to Warren.

(25,471 posts)He really seems to have ramped up the attacks and the aggressiveness the past couple weeks - especially his staff and surrogates. It's an odd strategy, combined with the attacks on the "establishment", etc.
It makes me wonder if he thought this was a done deal and was shifting to a GE stance. Whatever the plan was, it's not helping.

(19,956 posts)nasty attacks on the other candidates, in an effort to increase his support ? There was never a point (that I saw) where that was happening, from him but especially from his followers. As the old saying goes "be nice to people on the way up, because you might meet them again on the way down !"

(25,471 posts)Anti-establishment has always been his game and he sees pretty much everyone in the race as establishment. Maybe it's so ingrained that he can't stop it, even knowing that he may need these people at the convention.
It's always been an odd strategy, especially since he also claims that he wants a contested convention. If the convention is contested and it's anywhere near close, Sanders almost assuredly loses. He has to know that.

(19,956 posts)use of Democratic Socialist is a smokescreen many on the far left have been using. The old days of parties like the Socialist Party, Workers Party, Socialist Workers Party, have long since changed their names and voter facing identity to names like Solidarity/People Before Profit etc, but they don't change who they are underneath.

(945 posts)He realizes that the only chance he has at the nomination is to win it outright on the first ballot. Otherwise, he's done. He's trying to sow divisions in the party with his (and his surrogates) constant attacks.

TwilightZone
(25,471 posts)He knows if it goes to a contested convention and it's close, he will almost assuredly lose. The only thing I can think of it that he just assumed that a majority was a given already so attacking everyone wouldn't matter.
It's a goofy strategy, but it's pretty consistent. It just never made any sense. Still doesn't.

(945 posts)He's built a career on being an agitator. He does not know how to stop. Also, IMO, the part of him that knows that his promises can't be delivered on wants to lose the nomination-otherwise the very people supporting him will turn on him. And he wants to try again in 2024/2028.

(25,471 posts)That's really the logic. They think everyone is anti-establishment and hates the system or "the man" or however we want to phrase it, so they think everyone will unify behind that message. They don't see the attacks as attacks; it's part of his "message" that they're just sure everyone will get behind.

I think that it would be wise for Warren and Bloomberg to drop out too, endorse who they choose too.
The theory that the are two sides and no middle is ridiculous. That is like someone accusing me of not being a patriot because I ordered fajitas instead of a hamburger.

(86,622 posts)but he paid a lot for his place on the ballot tomorrow, after that I expect him to drop out.
Warren is in it until the convention and I'm okay with that. I don't want Bernie, period. It's not because I hate him but because he's not the right person to lead us. Has nothing to do with hate. I support Warren but it doesn't mean I love her.
Get a grip there you Bernie people, this isn't the kind of contest you wish to make it into.

(3,401 posts)All of them deserve a seat at the table when it comes to defeating Trump and Taking the majority of Congress. This has got to be a collective effort, we need the help of all of them and their supporters. I dont understand the selfishness of Bernies supporters, but I fear a lot of that is fake support from the right anyway. But we need the real Bernie young people to be on this team despite the person leading the ticket.

I keep saying that I believe that Bernie's intentions and goals are good and I'd be thrilled to see him as president if that were even possible (I just don't think it is)... but why does he surround himself with such hateful, mean people? Because it worked for Trump? Or is it unintentional and he just doesn't know any better? I don't know which is worse.

Any negative opinions are evidence of "hate," and any adverse occurrences are evidence of malign forces (mainly the evil Establishment Democrats and the Corporate Media) arrayed against Bernie, the sole possessor of the correct ideology.
