Democratic Primaries

After two previous runs over the course of 32 years, Joe Biden has finally won a delegate. I meant that. I think he's got a lot of great stuff about him, I think it was a great night for him, and I think it shows incredible grit that he's kept going after 3 decades. I think it's unfortunate that circumstances aligned the previous times to knock him out early, and I'm happy for him and his supporters.

(56,582 posts)The man's been chasing this for 30 years and has finally crossed the barrier his earlier campaigns, through no fault of his own, fizzled out ahead of. I think that's awesome, and I'm glad he's done it.

(15,512 posts)but because it demonstrated decisively that Biden is best positioned to win in November because he's the candidate with closest ties to Barack and thus to African-American voters who supported him. Many have challenged that wisdom but last night proved it. And now Joe is going to Move on Up!!

New Hampshire barely blue state Bernie could cement blue state long term
Nevada blue state Bernie won and will win in November m
South Carolina red state Biden won. Biden will lose in November

(56,582 posts)I didn't realize he got some in NV. But, yes, it's his first primary victory after 32 years of this. I think that's impressive and I don't understand why that seems to piss people off.

(15,899 posts)This is serious business.
Biden seems to be the candidate of the week. But hes a candidate who needs massive help. I mean joe needed a congressman to get him across the gate. Everyone is begging for Obama to come rescue him. They are wanting to beg kamala to get him noticed in California. They are trying to find people in different states that can pull him along. No other candidate ever needed this. So they are nervous.

(53,805 posts)win a delegate. Tat of course is also untrue.
to win a delegate. Now if you had said he's tried in two previous runs to win a delegate, that would be almost accurate, since he did in fact win delegates earlier in this race.
It would also be decidedly less snarky.
