Poll: Biden retakes lead in Florida

Former Vice President Joe Biden is reclaiming his front-runner status in Florida, according to a survey released on Thursday by St. Pete Polls.

The poll shows Biden pulling ahead of the pack in the Sunshine State with 35 percent support. Meanwhile, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg fell into second place with 25 percent support.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who has taken the lead in polls nationally after back-to-back wins in the New Hampshire primary and Nevada caucuses, is running in a distant third in Florida. The St. Pete Poll pegged his support in the state at 13 percent, a sign that the recent traction he has enjoyed in other states isn’t translating in Florida, where voters will cast ballots on March 17.

No other candidate registered double-digit support in the survey. Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg finished with about 8 percent support, while Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) registered 5 percent and 4 percent, respectively.

and Russians will keep trying for Bernie. The double whammy of Biden’s character and experience is coming through now.

Berne has never presented a coherent, substantive foreign policy vision and his lack of judgement in praising Castro previews what we would get more of in a Sanders presidency. Enough improvised policy positions and loose talk.

And so... apparently... this is something that's LONG been simmering. I found this:

https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/ilanbenmeir/bernie-sanders-despised-democrats-in-1980s-said-a-jfk-speech

Vermont senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders once said that he was "physically nauseated" by a speech made by President John F. Kennedy when Sanders was a young man, because Kennedy's "hatred for the Cuban Revolution [...] was so strong."

"Kennedy was young and appealing and ostensibly liberal," Sanders reminisced in a 1987 interview with The Gadfly, a student newspaper at the University of Vermont. "But I think at that point, seeing through Kennedy, and what liberalism was, was probably a significant step for me to understand that conventional politics or liberalism was not what was relevant."

Why would Kennedy's opposition-to and "hatred for the Cuban Revolution" elicit such a response from Bernie? That sure sounds like the reaction that someone would have if they have a certain "fondness" or respect or admiration for the Cuban Revolution.

It's pretty clear what he's saying and what he's getting at there. He even repeats it for emphasis at the end. What else could explain it?

It's really not a good look, and if nominated, the GOP will have a goldmine of material to use against Bernie.

2 votes for Biden.

I am still listed here as undecided and Joe, while I love him, has never been my first choice (or second, to be honest). But, I am a real, practical Democrat. I don't need to be in love with a candidate to believe he has the best shot of taking out the filth in our WH.

So, Joe got 2 more primary votes in FL.

As soon as we get to the states whose demographics are more like the US as a whole, Biden will start winning.

South Carolina should be first.
