Kamala Harris Says A Woman Running Mate Would Be "Fabulous," Wouldn't It?

As the 2020 field becomes increasingly more crowded, a number of male candidates have been asked if they'd be willing to select a woman as their vice presidential partner. Now, however, the question has been popped to one of the race's female contenders. California Sen. Kamala Harris said she'd consider a woman running mate, describing an all-female 2020 ticket as "fabulous."

"Yeah, I would. I would," Harris said when asked if she would consider choosing a woman as her running mate during an interview with Mark Thompson, also known as Rev. Matsimela Mapfumo, on SiriusXM Progress' Make It Plain. "Wouldn't that be fabulous?" she added, referencing an all-woman ticket.

Is America ready for that?" Thompson asked.

"We'll see if it happens," Harris replied. "There are all kinds of interesting scenarios."

This isn't the first time Harris' campaign team has appeared to suggest that it was open to the idea of an all-women 2020 ticket. In January, Harris' communications director, Lily Adams, responded to a reporter questioning if women could be both "the standard-bearer" and the running mate on a presidential ticket. "Well we've tried two males on a ticket together more than a few times so... let's try something new," she tweeted.

If a man wins president then he needs to have a female vice. I am a woman but I personaly do not feel this country is ready for both a female president and vice president. I feel we need balance and proof through their work together that it can be done. A woman MUST be one of them.

And she would most likely pick a man if she wins the nomination. I think Inslee would be a great choice, but since they both live on the west coast, that won't happen.

but being for a man is not at all sexist. If you want a woman president, you only care about the candidate’s gender. If you want a man, you are an egalitarian who only cares about policy.

After 58 elections, this country has not once had a female president. But wanting the 46th president to be a man is not sexist! Oh, no! It’s wanting a woman that’s sexist!

People like you who dismiss women’s desire to be represented at the top levels of government are going to give us another four years of Trump. But that won’t be so bad, eh, since he is, after all, a man! We wouldn’t want our president to be a woman, who, by definition, would have benefited from an unfair advantage!

Short lived fantasy.
