I sure hope Bloomberg doesn't go scorched earth against Bernie.

There are hints that he might, and for obvious reasons Republicans like Jennifer Rubin are urging him to. I sure hope not, it would be dangerous for two big reasons.
1) If it doesn't work, and Bernie is the nominee, it could help Trump by weakening Bernie
2) If it does work, and Bloomberg is the nominee, it could help Trump by pissing off Bernie's supporters

I don't think it would work, Bernie is currently leading Bloomberg by about 20 points in head-to-head polling, and I don't see many Bernie supporters switching over based on a billionaire smear campaign.

But smear campaigns in primaries are just a bad idea, period.

progressives in his place (Sanders or Warren). I think it's personal for Bloomberg. He has a thing about tRump personally, and is willing to do whatever he can to see him beaten -- other than support a economic progressive.

The other candidates were completely wretched to him and ganged up on him during the first debate. I wouldn’t blame him if he went scorched earth or even third party after the way they treated him.
